A boy fell off a speeding train when it was moving at a high speed while his parents were sleeping on their berths. He survived by a sheer destiny and spent the night near the tracks passing through a forested area in Odisha.

Identified as Pritish Pragya, he hails from Berhampur in Odisha. He was travelling to Bhubaneswar from Raipur with his family in Durg-Puri Express. According to reports, Pritish, just 10, went to the train lavatory around 2 am without informing his parents. Since the entry/exit door of the train was open while it was running at a high speed, the air pressure forced him out of the coach.

The accident happened nearly 4 km away from Rairakhol railway station, inside a forest. Luckily he didn't get serious physical injuries, but the fall could have had more serious outcome. Since it was dark and he had received injuries, he felt helpless and sat near the rail line.

Luckily, pilot of a goods train passing through the tracks spotted the boy, thinking it was a dead body, and informed the Rairakhol station from where RPF personnel arrived immediately.

Media reports cited RPF officers saying the boy was rescued around 5 am on Wednesday.

When the family found the child missing in train, they got down at Dhenkanal station and informed the officials. Since Rairakhol station and RPF were already in action, the child was rescued by that time.
