US President Donald Trump has invited India to be part of the proposed Gaza “Board of Peace” as Washington moves ahead with the next phase of its plan to end the Gaza conflict, sources told news agency ANI.
The invitation comes even as the White House on Friday announced the formation of the Board of Peace, which will oversee Phase Two of Trump’s 20-Point Peace Plan for Gaza. The initiative is aimed at stabilisation, reconstruction and long-term governance of the war-torn region.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Sunday said that President Donald Trump has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the proposed “Board of Peace” aimed at bringing long-term stability to Gaza.

In a post on X, Gor said he was honoured to formally convey the invitation on behalf of the US President. “Honored to convey @POTUS invitation to Prime Minister @narendramodi to participate in the Board of Peace which will bring lasting peace to Gaza. The Board will support effective governance to achieve stability and prosperity!” he wrote.
According to a White House statement, the Board of Peace will include key global figures such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. The panel will also feature Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan and US Deputy National Security Adviser Robert Gabriel.
Explaining the mandate of the board, the White House said, “Executive Board members will oversee defined portfolios critical to Gaza's stabilisation and long-term success, including, but not limited to, governance capacity-building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment attraction, large-scale funding, and capital mobilisation.”
With Trump serving as Chairman of the Board of Peace, Aryeh Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum have been appointed as senior advisors. Their role will include managing day-to-day strategy and operations and ensuring the execution of the board’s diplomatic and policy priorities.
As part of the administrative structure, Nickolay Mladenov, an Executive Board member, will act as the High Representative for Gaza. He will serve as the link between the Board of Peace and the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).
Describing the NCAG as a key pillar of Phase Two, the White House said it represents a crucial step in implementing Trump’s comprehensive roadmap for “lasting peace, stability, reconstruction, and prosperity in the region.” The NCAG will be led by Ali Sha’ath, who will oversee the restoration of essential public services, rebuilding of civil institutions and stabilisation of daily life in Gaza.
The plan also outlines security arrangements to ensure long-term stability. To this end, Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed Commander of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF). The White House said he will lead security operations, support demilitarisation efforts and enable the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and reconstruction materials.
In addition, the Gaza Executive Board will include figures such as Tony Blair, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, along with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al Thawadi and other international representatives.
India’s possible inclusion in the Board of Peace signals Washington’s intent to involve New Delhi in shaping post-conflict governance and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, though official confirmation from the Indian government is still awaited.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the proposed “Board of Peace” for Gaza, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday.
Confirming the development, a spokesperson for the ministry said the invitation had been conveyed to Sharif as part of Washington’s efforts to bring together international stakeholders for post-conflict stabilisation and peace in Gaza.
Responding to the invitation, the spokesperson said Pakistan would continue to support global peace initiatives related to the conflict. “Pakistan will remain engaged with international efforts for peace and security in Gaza, leading to a lasting solution to the Palestine issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions,” the statement said.
