Dhirubhai Ambani would have been proud to see Jamnagar today, says Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani-Piramal, director at Reliance Industries Ltd, remembered her grandfather Dhirubhai Ambani and spoke fondly about the Jamnagar refinery’s legacy.

“Today, as we celebrate 25 years of Jamnagar, I feel my grandfather's presence and miss him dearly. This was his cherished dream, a vision that lived in his heart. He would have been so proud to see what Jamnagar has become today,” she said on Dhirubhai Ambani’s legacy.

Ambani also praised the leadership of her father Mukesh Ambani and acknowledged his unwavering dedication to turning his father’s dream into a reality.

Reliance's Jamnagar refinery, the conglomerate's first, celebrated its 25th anniversary on December 28, 2024. The facility has since become the world's refining hub and an engineering marvel.

Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance, defied the warnings of project consultants who advised against setting up the refinery in such a remote area. His vision was not merely to build an industrial plant but to create a thriving, self-sustaining complex.
