The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday filed a chargesheet against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Rouse Avenue Court in the excise policy case.

This is pertaining to the excise policy case, where the Supreme Court has granted bail to Kejriwal in the ED arrest. The top court will also hear today Deputy CM and AAP leader Manish Sisodia's bail plea in the money laundering and corruption cases registered over the alleged liquor policy scam.

The chargesheet is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities related to the high-profile liquor case, which has gained public and political attention.

The filing of the chargesheet follows extensive investigations into the alleged misuse of the Delhi excise policy, which is claimed to have involved substantial financial misconduct.

The CBI’s action reflects the escalation of legal proceedings against Kejriwal and could have substantial implications for the political landscape in Delhi. Kejriwal is facing serious allegations that could impact his position and the broader political scenario in Delhi.

Kejriwal is being treated as a “political prisoner”, AAP alleged on Friday as it stressed that the party supremo’s sugar levels had declined to 50 nearly 34 times between June 3 and July 7. Addressing a press conference, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak alleged that Kejriwal was a victim of a “conspiracy”.
