TheMizoramgovernment has decidednot to allow paramilitary personnel enter the state tillAugust 15 in the wake of the surge in COVID-19 cases among theforces, an official said on Tuesday.
The decision was taken at a meeting between officialsof the state government and the paramilitary forces on Monday,he said.
It was agreed at the meeting, which was chaired byChief SecretaryLalnunmawiaChuaungo, that a decision onallowing the security personnel to enter thestate would betaken after August 15 based on the prevailing coronavirussituation, the official said.
1,124 COVID-19cases, 781 recovered and13 deaths reported in Rajasthan today, as of 8:30 pm. Total number of cases in the state is now at 46,679, including 32,832 recovered, 13,115 active cases and732 deaths.
Thane district reported 947 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a welcome dip from four-figure spikes during earlier days, taking the infection count to 91,102, while 35 deaths took the toll to 2,516, an official said.

West Bengal Health Dept requests ICMR to change guidelines on COVID-19 retests
The West Bengal Health department has written to theICMRrequesting it to change its guidelines on "immediate retest" of a person who has tested negative in antigen test for COVID-19, a senior official said on Tuesday.
In this season of flu, there are people who are negative in antigen tests at several fever clinics but as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines they should be sent for theRT-PCRtest immediately, he said.
Delhi recorded 674 fresh coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking the tally in the city to over 1.39 lakh while the death toll from the disease climbed to 4,033, authorities said.
The three-figure count for new cases was recorded on a day when the total number of tests conducted stood at 9,295, according to the bulletin released by the Delhi health department.
