The incident took place at the T1 arrival parking lot of Kempegowda International Airport.

A Bengaluru airport staff was on August 28 stabbed to death near the parking lot of Terminal 1 creating an atmosphere of panic.

According to reports, the victim, who worked as a trolley operator at Kempegowda International Airport, was attacked due to personal rivalry. The incident took place at the arrival parking area around 6.30pm.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), responsible for airport security, immediately apprehended the accused, identified as Ramesh. He was then handed over to the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) police.

Preliminary probe suggests that the victim, Ramakrishna, was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with the accused's wife. Both Ramakrishna and Ramesh hail from Karnataka's Tumakuru district.

According to a report on Deccan Herald, Ramesh boarded a KSRTC bus from Madhugiri and got off at Yelahanka. He then got into a BMTC bus and headed towards the airport. Upon reaching the airport, he found Ramakrishna unloading trolleys in the parking lot and attacked him.

"Ramesh stabbed Ramakrishna with a knife which he had brought in a backpack. The accused didn't enter the terminal which is why his bag wasn't inspected," the report mentioned quoting a senior police officer.
