Apple’s drift away from China and dash for India may unleash over 600,000 jobs through the iPhone maker’s local ecosystem, the Economic Times reported on August 27.
According to the report, the Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to add around 200,000 direct jobs by the end of the current financial year, with women making up over 70 percent of the workforce.
Citing government projections, the ET report said every direct job creates at least three indirect jobs, which could translate to 500,000 to 600,000 jobs overall.
