A 26-year-old employee of Biocon Biologics Limited allegedly died by suicide after falling from the fifth floor of the company building in Bengaluru on Tuesday, reported News18.

The incident occurred at around 5 pm, when Kumar was on his phone, when he went to the cafeteria terrace on the fifth floor before jumping to his death, as per news agency PTI.

No suicide note was found at the scene, and his body was taken to a private hospital for a post-mortem. The exact cause of the incident remains unknown, police said, and further investigation is ongoing.

The Times of India reported that Kumar, an engineering graduate, had been working in the finance department at Biocon for the past six months.

His father, Srinath, is a temple priest. According to the report, Kumar was seen speaking on a mobile phone in the company canteen before going to the terrace and jumping. 'We did not find a death note," an officer told the newspaper.

The body was declared dead at the hospital. Other reports quoted police as saying Kumar may have jumped or fallen from the office building parapet, and no death note has been recovered so far.

The authorities have registered a case at Parappana Agrahara police station and are investigating the incident's circumstances.

Biocon issued a statement expressing condolences to Kumar’s family. "We are deeply saddened by the death of one of our Bengaluru employees. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the family during this difficult time. Since the matter is under investigation, we cannot share further details now," the company said.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning employees present at the time to understand the sequence of events.
