10 army personnel were killed, and seven were injured after their vehicle plunged into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.
The vehicle, carrying 20 personnel, skidded off the road at the Khanni Top area of Bhaderwah, where the driver lost control, and the vehicle plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge.
The injured personnel were provided first aid at the site and were later airlifted to Udhampur for specialised medical treatment, reported ANI.
Rescue operations are underway.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the accident and extended condolences to their families. In a post on X, the lieutenant governor said he was deeply saddened by the loss of the lives of the soldiers in the “unfortunate road accident” and paid tribute to their service and sacrifice.
