Right then, India have cruised to the finale of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by defeating their arch-rivals Australia in a fine fashion. However, with a depleted bowling attack, the Aussies, true to their fighting nature, did fight hard but were just short of plans. So now, the venue of the finale has been locked in. The Dubai International Stadium will be the host as India awaits their opponent for the summit clash. The second semi-final features South Africa taking on New Zealand. Both teams are evenly matched and that promises to be a belter of a game as well. Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium will be the host. Who will fly to Dubai to face India in the finale? Will it be the Proteas? Or can the Kiwis run over them? The first ball is scheduled to be bowled on Wednesday, March 5th, at 9 am GMT. But do make sure you tune in with us an hour before for all the pre-match analysis and build-up. Until then, cheers!

The captain of India, Rohit Sharma says that till the last ball is bowled, nothing is certain. Says that halfway through the stage, they felt that it was a reasonable score as the nature of the pitch was such that you cannot play the shots you want to play. Thinks they were really calm and composed in the chase. Adds that the surfaces in Dubai are very uncertain and says this one played a bit better, while the one that was used against New Zealand was a bit on the slower side. Mentions about the talks going on in the dressing room to play good cricket. Says they wanted to have six bowling options and to have batting till number 8. Credits everyone involved in making the team as well. On Virat Kohli, he says that Virat has done the job for them for so many years now and is delighted to see him doing the task time and again for the country whenever needed. Says they needed a big partnership and got a few important ones in the middle overs that steered them past the line. Is happy and states that you want the guys to perform well before the finals. Appreciates his teammates by saying that these guys have made an impact whenever they have the opportunity, which gives them a lot of confidence.

The captain of Australia, Steve Smith says that the bowlers did a good job and the spinners squeezed things in the middle overs that helped them take the game deep and reckons it was a difficult wicket to start on with the bat. Mentions that the wicket remained more or less similar in both innings, and was a bit two-faced and helped the spinners. Adds that they should have got to 280, which could have got them more in the game. Reckons that they played exceptionally well against England and the inexperienced bowling lineup did a great job and hopefully, they will continue the same in the future.

Virat Kohli is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his match-winning stint with the bat. Virat starts by saying that his knock was similar to the one against Pakistan and it was more about rotating strike and building partnerships and that it's all dependent on the conditions. Mentions that his timing and composure at the crease pleased him today and he wasn't trying for too much. Adds that when you play these big games and take it deep with wickets in hands, the opposition starts to give in and even with a deficit of 20 or so balls, the set batters can kick on and get the win. Mentions that when you try and not to think about the milestones, you feel good with the win, and at this moment in his career, those milestones don't matter much.

... THE PRESENTATION CEREMONY ...

Earlier in the game, Rohit Sharma lost the toss for the 14th straight time in ODIs, and Steve Smith opted to bat first. India picked up an early wicket thanks to Mohammad Shami, but then came the counter-punch from Travis Head, forcing an early change. Varun came on and got Head's big wicket, forcing Australia to build a stand rather than hit their way through. The Aussies did just that as Smith and Marnus built up a stand. Right throughout the middle phase of the innings, the Aussies started to build stands, but India managed to peg them back with a wicket. Smith missed out on a ton, and it was Alex Carey who looked the best of the batters, but even he couldn't stay on for the death overs, and India managed to bowl Australia out for 264 runs, 20 or so less than what they were heading towards.

With the top five batters chewing up more than half the portion of the team's chase, the focus shifted towards consolidation in the latter stages of the innings. Virat Kohli reached a milestone by scoring his 74th ODI half-century, further solidifying his reputation as a prolific batter when it comes to big events like these. After Axar Patel's departure following a handy knock, KL Rahul joined Kohli at the crease, and the duo formed a critical partnership that gradually wrested control of the match from Australia. While Kohli, unbothered, played a pivotal role in building the innings, he fell short of completing the chase. KL Rahul stepped up decisively, striking the final runs and guiding India to victory, effectively neutralizing the Australian bowling efforts and steering India towards success. Hardik Pandya too, played a crucial cameo by injecting the momentum back with a few lusty blows.

Seeking a breakthrough, Steve Smith strategically introduced his spin bowlers. Adam Zampa successfully disrupted the ongoing partnership by dismissing Shreyas Iyer, providing Australia with a critical wicket. Axar Patel, promoted up the batting order, demonstrated remarkable composure and defensive technique. Instead of attempting risky shots, he focused on building another significant partnership with Virat Kohli. Kohli, maintaining his characteristic run chase approach, continued to rotate the strike by consistently running singles in the mid overs.

Kohli's crucial role in preventing a potential collapse was particularly noteworthy, showcasing his ability to anchor the scoring during a critical phase of the match. Shreyas Iyer joined him, and the two brought in that much-required calm, with both punctuating the score with occasional boundaries as well. However, the pitch was not that easy to bat on, with the ball holding up a bit and the odd one deviating away. In these circumstances, a 91-run stand between Kohli and Iyer proved invaluable as it dashed off the pressure from the shoulders of the middle order.

India's innings commenced with Rohit Sharma providing an assertive start, methodically finding boundaries and establishing early momentum. The team encountered a setback with Shubman Gill's dismissal during the Powerplay, which could have disrupted their batting rhythm. However, Virat Kohli's experienced presence stabilized the innings, ensuring consistent run accumulation. By the ten-over mark, India had strategically positioned themselves at 55/2.

Winners in 2013, runners-up in 2017, and now through to the summit clash in 2025 as well. This marks India's third consecutive Champions Trophy finale appearance, and their overall fifth, including 2000 and 2002. A job well done by the Men In Blue in the end, but throughout, it was a close game, with both sides going neck and neck. However, a few fielding lapses from the Aussies made their task even harder. And, of course, not having their premier bowlers, made them look a bit depleted, especially in the pace department.

48.1SIX! INDIA ARE THROUGH TO THE FINAL OF THE ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025! KL Rahul hits the glory shot and the celebrations start in the Indian dressing room. Glenn Maxwell darts it in, fuller and on the middle and leg stump line. KL Rahul shimmies down a bit and lofts it over cow corner for a cracking six. Hits it clean as a whistle and clears the ropes with ease to get his team over the line.

47.6Around the wicket, speared in fuller and on middle, Ravindra Jadeja pushes it to mid on and scoots off for a quick single. Oh, wait! An overthrow as Ben Dwarshuis picks up the initial throw on the back-up and throws it wayward to the keeper's end. With no proper back up there, the batters take another run.

Ravindra Jadeja walks out to bat now.

47.5OUT! GONE! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Ellis bowls it fuller again, and gets the ball to jag back in a touch, around middle and leg. Hardik Pandya tries to kill the game with the glory shot, but ends up mistiming it badly. Hits straight in the air, but the connection is off the toe-end, hence, he doesn't quite get the distance. Ends up offering a dolly of a catch to Glenn Maxwell who moves a bit to his left from long on. Takes a simple reverse cup catch. India need 6 off 13 balls now.

47.4Pace on, too full and outside off, almost a yorker. Hardik Pandya fails to carve it out.

47.3FOUR! Effortless! Into the single figures now, then! Ellis serves it on the stumps, on a fullish length, nipping back a bit off the deck. Hardik Pandya positions himself well and holds his shape to loft it over the bowler's head for a boundary. Just a hit away now, is India!

47.3WIDE! A close call? Ellis is not quite convinced, but it is clearly over the head! Shortish on the top of off, climbs on the batter. Hardik Pandya opts to let it be as it passes above his head height.

47.2Swing and a miss! Ellis takes pace off, and bowls a fuller-length delivery, around the leg stump line, Hardik Pandya tries to loft it over the bowler but misses due to the lack of pace, and gets beaten on the inside edge as the ball nips back in a touch.

47.1Back of a length, on top of off, KL Rahul leans back and cuts it to the left of point for a single.

46.6SIX MORE! CLEARS THE FENCE WITH EASE AGAIN! Too full from Zampa again, on the stumps, Hardik Pandya picks it up nicely and deposits it into the stands behind long off. It traveled more than 100 meters. Just 12 needed to win now off 18 balls remaining.

46.5SIX! BANG! This time he connects, and connects so well! Zampa offers it right into the wheel house, floated fuller and on off, Hardik Pandya clears his front leg and smashes it over long off for a huge six. He struggles a bit right after playing the shot, but looks fine to continue.

46.4Another dot delivery! Slower through the air, drifting on the pads, Hardik Pandya sits down to smash the slog sweep, but connects thin air.

46.3Back of a length, on off, KL Rahul backs away and cuts it to deep point for a single.

46.2On the shorter side, outside off, stays low as well. Hardik Pandya stands tall and lofts it over cover for a single. He looks for the second run but is sent back on a sharp call from KL Rahul. Has enough time to turn around and retreat back to the bowling end, before the throw.

46.1Pitched on a length, flatter and quicker on off, KL Rahul smashes it down to long off for a single.

Adam Zampa has one over up his sleeve and Steve Smith is going to risk it right now. Could this be the over that makes the difference for either side? Let's find out.

45.6What an excellent over from Ellis! Just a solitary run from this one! Aims the stumps, on a fullish length, pushed straight back again by Pandya. He hasn't been quite able to knock it around the gaps to rotate the strike so far. India need 27 runs off 24 balls now.

45.5And suddenly, three dots on the trot from Ellis! Fuller and on off, Pandya prods ahead and pushes it off the inner half of the bat to the bowler. A hint of reverse as well there for Nathan Ellis to cramp up the batter.

45.4Fuller and on the stumps, Hardik flicks it to mid-wicket.

45.3Back of a length, on middle and leg, Hardik punches it to mid off.

45.2Fuller on the stumps, KL Rahul eases it between cover and point for one. 3000 ODI RUNS FOR KL RAHUL! He becomes the 20th Indian batter to achieve this feat in this format.

45.1A dot to start from Ellis! Follows KL Rahul who shuffles to open the off side, bowls it on the leg stump line, a back-of-the-hand delivery, with seam up, KL Rahul waits for it and adjusts to dab it on the surface.

44.6Two more to end the over and India now need 28 off 30 balls. Fractionally short and turning away, Hardik Pandya rocks back and cuts it hard behind deep point for a couple of runs.

44.5SIX! Always a risk to bowl Tanveer Sangha at this stage and all Hardik Pandya needed was one ball in his arc and he's dispatched it. Tossed up, straight and just a bit too full, Hardik is able to swing through the line and whacks it a long way over the bowler's head for a biggie.

44.4Flatter delivery, pushed through on middle, jammed away towards mid-wicket by Pandya.

44.3Three dots to begin with and the pressure starts to build on the batter. A shortish ball, quicker ad outside off, Pandya slaps it away to cover.

44.2Flighted ball, full and on off and middle, Pandya leans on and plays it away to point.

44.1Bowled flat and on a nagging length, onto middle and leg, Hardik Pandya rocks right back and keeps it out.

Smith has thrown the ball to Tanveer Sangha (5-0-33-0) now. He replaces Adam Zampa.

43.6Hard length, angled in at the pads, Pandya flicks it away stylishly and through square leg for a single. 36 needed now off 36 and the Aussie bowlers are trying to make the most of what's left to defend.

43.5Banged in short of a length and outside off, Hardik Pandya gets up on his toes and cuts it down hard in front of point where the fielder makes a sharp stop.

43.4Slightly full and fairly straight at the stumps, Rahul pushes it on the up and straight back past the bowler for a quick single.

43.3Oh, there was a noise for sure but not that loud of an appeal from the keeper. Nathan Ellis darts the ball in on leg and angles it down, KL Rahul fails to flick it away and the ball just seems to have brushed his pad on its way to Josh Inglis. Ellis seems excited but Steve Smith doesn't review it and later on, UltraEdge confirms that it was the right decision.

43.2Good running! Slower one, pitched up around middle, Pandya leans on and defends it gently in front of point before scampering through for the single.

43.1Pitched-up delivery, on off and angling it in, Hardik gets forward and drives it straight back to the bowler.

Nathan Ellis returns to the attack. He is 7-0-37-1 so far He replaces Ben Dwarshuis.

42.6Shortens the length and bowls it around off, Pandya presses back and punches it away through covers for one. 39 needed now off 42 balls.

42.5Flatter delivery, pushed through around off, Pandya cuts it to point.

Hardik Pandya is in at number 7 with India needing 40 runs off 44 balls.

42.4OUT! CAUGHT! What was Kohli thinking there? There was already a six in the over and all Kohli needed was to tick things over but Adam Zampa has got the wicket and this could breathe new life into Australia. Zampa tosses the ball on off and it is the wrong'un that Kohli picks but slogs it flat towards long on. The ball goes straight to Ben Dwarshuis who takes a crucial low catch and Virat Kohli has to walk back disappointed after a well-made 84 off 98 balls. Zampa gets his second wicket and breaks this 47-run stand for the fifth wicket.

42.3This is bowled into the pitch over off, Rahul rocks back and swats the pull, flat and on the bounce to long on for one.

42.2SIX! Up and away! KL Rahul is taking the game away from the Aussies now. Tossed up at the stumps, Rahul is early to come down the pitch and holds his shape brilliantly to lift it straight over the bowler's head for a biggie.

42.1Flatter one on off and middle, a bit full and slower too, Kohli hops back and across and tucks it to the right of deep mid-wicket, looking for two. Glenn Maxwell does well to keep it down to a single.

Adam Zampa is back on. He is 8-0-36-1 so far and replaces Tanveer Sangha.

41.6No run there! Good length on off, darting back in, Rahul looks to drop and run but Kohli says no as Marnus Labuschagne charges it quickly from point and collects the ball. 48 needed now off 48 balls.

41.5FOUR! Well then, KL Rahul has taken matters into his own hands after that drinks break. Floated up on the stumps, angling in, Rahul advances and swings it away off the bottom part of the bat but well over wide mid on for a boundary.

41.4Nicely done! Back of a length, angling back into off, Kohli stays back and plays it really late, dabbing it down to deep third for another single.

41.3These two doing it comfortably without much risk at the moment. A bit slower and back of a length around off, played from the crease and square through the off side for one.

41.2Back of a length and outside off, Rahul backs away and stays deep in the crease before tapping it late and wide of deep third for a couple of easy runs.

41.1Uppish but safe enough! Short of a good length and wide outside off, Virat Kohli comes forward and looks to loft it over covers but slices it off the outer half of the blade and on the bounce to deep third for a single.

40.6Sliding it in, a bit too straight, flicked down to fine leg for a couple of runs by KL. 7 off that over!

40.5On the shorter side and around off, grips a bit, Rahul cuts it uppishl;y in front of the cover-point fielder.

40.4FOUR! Powered away! Tossed up on off, KL Rahul skips down the track again and just hammers it straight down the ground, to the right of long off for a boundary. That's a boundary for India after 6.4 overs!

40.3Oh, almost gets chopped on! Pushed through quicker and flatter around off, Rahul advances down the pitch but has to adjust and looks to jam it out but gets an under edge past the strip on the off side.

40.2Floated up a bit quicker and on leg, Kohli lunged and plays it down to long on for another single.

40.1Tossed up, quite full and straight, KL takes the front leg out and drives it through wide mid off for one.

Drinks break! Time for the final official hydration break of the match and the game is still so nicely poised, as neither team has managed to really run away with it. However, India need 65 runs off 60 legal deliveries and with a couple of proper batters still to come, this equation isn't a big deal given how modern cricket works. Australia simply need wickets and without getting wickets, it is a matter of just one or two big overs for the opposition to run away with it. Powerplay 2 is also done, India got 145 runs off it whilst losing 2 wickets and Australia are now allowed an additional fielder outside the inner ring. A change in bowling right after the break. Here's Tanveer Sangha (4-0-25-0) back into the attack, replacing Adam Zampa.

39.6A very good over from Ben Dwarshuis! Just a couple of runs off it! Length-delivery at the stumps, Virat Kohli works it across to mid-wicket. India need 65 runs in 60 balls remaining.

39.5Hard length, outside off, Virat Kohli weighs on the back foot and hits it straight to the cover fielder.

39.4Good length, holds up a bit on the surface, on off, Virat Kohli is a bit early to play the shot. He closes the bat face to work it to the leg side, and gets it off the leading edge towards cover on a couple of bounces.

39.3Pitched fuller and outside off, KL Rahul plays the expansive cover drive, but gets just a single. The 200 is up for India!

39.2Back of a length, from around the stumps, on top of middle, punched back straight by KL Rahul.

39.1Back of a length, at a gentle pace, on middle, Virat Kohli lets the ball arrive and turns it away to deep mid-wicket for a single.

Double change? Yes, Ben Dwarshuis replaces Cooper Connolly now.

38.6Tossed up, a conventional leg spinner, full and outside off, driven out straight to cover.

38.5Fuller and on off, Virat Kohli leans on and pushes it through widish mid off for a single.

38.4Full, on off, knocked down to long on for a single.

38.3Slow, on a length, outside off, punched away to deep point by VK. Another single milked. Out of 78 runs, this is Virat's 50th single. That is almost 65 percent of runs through singles for him.

38.2Floated up, fuller and just outside off, Virat Kohli squeezes it past the right of backward point for a couple of quick runs.

38.1A leg-break on a good length, outside off, KL Rahul punches it away to the cover region for one. Good effort from Marnus Labuschagne who dives to his right.

Change? Yes, Adam Zampa is brought back into the attack. He's got 3 overs left to make a difference.

37.6Too full and too slow, around off and middle, KL Rahul drives it inside-out through covers for a single to end the over.

37.5Floated up, fuller and slower, around off, pushed to backward point by KL Rahul. He wants a single but Marnus Labuschagne is quick on the ball and KL retreats back safely before the throw.

37.4Flatter and outside off, on a nagging length, Virat rocks back and cuts it to deep point for another single.

37.3On middle and on a length, KL punches it past Smith for a single at deep cover.

37.2On a length, around off, Virat Kohli has enough time to rock back and pull it away to deep mid-wicket for one.

37.1Dishes out on a length, outside off, KL Rahul shimmies down a bit, but adjusts his shot and slashes it away to deep point for a single.

A slight halt in proceedings as it seems one of the Aussie players has asked the umpires for some sort of a scratcher to remove a bit of dirt from underneath the spikes.

36.6Length-delivery, on the pads, KL Rahul nudges it past Glenn Maxwell, who dives to his right at mid-wicket. A single taken.

36.5On a back of a length, just outside off, Virat Kohli punches it on the up and through covers for a single.

36.4And now takes a single! Fuller on middle and leg, KL Rahul pushes it off the inside half of the bat to the left of mid on for a quick run.

36.3Good length, on a tight straight line, on off, KL Rahul hangs back and knocks it back to Ellis.

36.2Back of a length, outside off, Virat Kohli dabs it away to deep third for one.

36.1Goes short and outside off, Virat prepares to smash it to the off side, but mistimes it on the bounce to the bowler.

35.6Pushed through with a lot of flight on it, full in length, KL Rahul carves it away to cover. 5 singles off Connolly's 7th over. India need 82 more runs from 84 balls remaining.

35.5Flighted up, full and on the stumps, Virat Kohli lunges ahead and drills it to the right of the bowler. Rotates the strike again with a single.

35.4Tossed up, on middle and full in length, KL hits it off the inside half of the bat through mid-wicket for another single.

35.3And another single. Excellent running! Full, and tossed on off, Virat Kohli leans forward and taps it between cover and point and maneuvers the strike.

35.2Off the mark, is KL Rahul with a single! Slower length ball, outside off, KL Rahul rocks back and cuts it to deep backward point for one.

35.1Length ball, on the stumps, Kohli stays back and punches it wide of mid-wicket for a single.

KL Rahul is in at number 6. Also, Cooper Connolly has been brought back into the attack. He is 6-0-27-1 so far.

34.6OUT! TIMBER! Nathan Ellis comes back in and gets the crucial breakthrough for Australia. Ellis stays around the wicket to the left-hander and hits the hard length, bowling it in the channel around off. Axar Patel stays put and looks to swing across the line but the ball skids on and angles in just a bit, sneaking past the willow and hitting the top of the stumps. The on-air commentators were just speaking about how important a player Axar has been in white-ball cricket for India but it seems like the so called commentators' curse has gotten to Axar. He departs for 27 (30) and India now 178/4!

34.5Bowled into the pitch again and over middle, Axar presses back and pushes it down firmly to mid on.

34.4Seemed like the back-of-the-hand slower ball, bowled a bit shorter and outside off, this one grips and moves away from the right-hander. Kohli waits back and dabs it down to deep third for one.

34.3Seam-up delivery, hits the deck hard and bowls it outside off, Kohli punches it down and straight to short cover.

34.2Around the wicket to the left-hander, bowled on a good length and angled into off, Patel hits it on the up and down to long on for one more.

34.1Slower one, back of a length and over off, Kohli punches it down the ground with a straight bat and picks up a single.

Will Travis get another? Nope. Change of pace as Nathan Ellis has been summoned back into the attack. He is 5-0-30-0 so far.

33.6FOUR! Axar Patel really hurting Australia with these boundaries in between. Tossed up outside off, Axar stays put and just uses those long levers to go after the ball and lofts it over covers, bisecting the two fielders in the deep perfectly for a boundary.

33.5Flighted, fuller and on leg, worked away in front of square leg for a single.

33.4On the shorter side and wide outside off, enough time for Axar to rock back and cut it down to deep third for a run.

33.3On a dragged length, sliding it in from around off, Axar hops back and pushes it down into the off side.

33.2Pushed through flatter and on middle, Kohli rocks back and swats it down to long on for one more.

33.1Length ball, straight at the stumps, driven down to long on for one.

32.6Six singles in the over! Flatter one, angled into middle and leg, nudged away off the inside edge to square leg for one.

32.5Spears this one in, full and on middle and leg, Kohli clears the front leg and plays a whippy drive down to long on for yet another single.

32.4Shortish length in and around off, hit away off the back foot through backward point for a fourth straight single in this over.

32.3Good length on the pads, Kohli presses back and just taps the ball on the head, playing it through backward square leg for one more.

32.2On a length and on off and middle, Axar Patel rocks back and swats the ball flat and wide of mid-wikwt down to wide long on for a single.

32.1Starts around the wicket, bowling it flat and on middle and leg, Kohli goes back in his crease and flicks it to deep square leg for one.

Change? Yes, indeed. Time for the fifth spin bowling option for Australia. Here's Travis Head into the attack for the first time. He replaces Tanveer Sangha.

31.6Flighted up on the pads, tickled away down to fine leg for a single.

31.5A loud appeal for LBW but the umpire turns it down. Steve Smith quickly brings the keeper into question and does take the review. This seems pretty close, to be honest. Glenn Maxwell stays around the stumps and floats the ball up around middle, not all that full, and gets it to turn back in. Virat Kohli leans on to flick but misses and gets hit on the front pad. The third umpire checks UltraEdge first, and we can see an inside edge as the ball passes the bat. NOT OUT and Australia lose a review here.

31.4Even shorter this time and outside off, Axar Patel backs away and cuts it down to deep point for one.

31.3Slightly flighted and shorter, turning into the pads, nudged away around the corner by Kohli for a single.

31.2Drags the length back around off and gets it to just turn back in, Kohli hops back and pushes it out on the off side.

31.1Fullish length on off, angling away, Kohli leans on to block.

30.6Flatter one, on a dragged length and angled into the batter, Axar presses back to defend.

30.5SIX! Gets inside the line and puts it away! On a length and around off, Axar Patel gets a stride across and gets down on one knee, slogging it stylishly behind the square leg fence for a biggie.

30.4Full again, on middle and leg, clipped away to mid-wicket now.

30.3Gives it a nice loop and tosses it full on middle, Axar eases it to mid off.

30.2Flighted delivery, on a fullish length and outside off, driven off the outer half of the bat and behind deep point for a couple of runs.

30.1Dishes out a full and wide one, inviting the batter to go big, Axar Patel extends his arms and powers it along the ground to mid off.

After 30 overs, India are exactly 150/3. At the same stage, Australia were 158/4. Tanveer Sangha returns. 3-0-17-0 so far.

29.6On middle, pushed down to long on for one more.

29.5The arm ball, 88.7 kph, on middle and leg, Axar defends it towards short mid-wicket.

29.4A bit quicker, down the leg side, Kohli rocks back and nudges it through fine leg, coasting through for a run.

29.3Full, around leg stump, staying around the wicket, Virat Kohli flicks it towards square leg.

29.2The arm ball, around off, Patel punches it past the bowler towards long off for a single.

29.1Landed outside off, Axar Patel pushes it towards cover.

28.6Very full, outside off, 80.8 kph, Virat Kohli whips it through mid-wicket but short mid-wicket makes a half stop to his left.

28.5Fuller, around middle, VK drives it straight back to the bowler.

28.4Around off, Virat works it towards short mid-wicket.

28.3Fuller, around middle and leg, Axar Patel whips it uppishly past short mid-wicket, for a run.

28.2Floated, around off, Kohli drives it towards long off for a single. 119 more needed from 130 balls.

28.1FOUR! Fractionally short, outside off, Virat Kohli rocks back and pulls it over mid-wicket, splitting the fielders in the deep.

27.6Oohhhh. this one skids through, Axar looks to force this through the line but gets a thick inside edge which scoots past the stumps towards short fine leg.

27.5Outside off, the slider, dabbed towards backward point.

27.4Tossed up, outside off, Axar Patel leans and lofts it inside out over cover for a brace. Ben Dwarshuis cuts it off to his right from long off.

27.3Outside off, Virat Kohli taps it towards cover and takes a quick single.

27.2Worked into the leg side for a single.

27.1Down the leg side, helped towards short fine leg for a run.

26.6A short ball, around middle, Axar pulls it through mid-wicket. Alex Carey does well at deep mid-wicket to push the ball back into play. Two runs taken to get off the mark. 2 runs and a wicket from the over, Adam Zampa's figures read 6-0-24-1.

26.5A low full toss, driven back to the bowler.

26.4On middle and leg, nudged towards short mid-wicket.

26.3On middle and off, worked towards short mid-wicket.

Axar or Rahul? India too, persist with their set batting order. Axar Patel comes in at number 5, replacing Shreyas Iyer.

26.2OUT! BOWLED! Almost as if on cue, a batter gets dropped, but his partner gets dismissed soon after. Zampa breaks the 91-run stand. A skidder, on off stump or just outside off, Shreyas Iyer looks to hit it through the off side but just misses the line. The ball zips through and hits the off stump. Iyer departs for a fantastic 45 (62) and India are 134/3, needing another 131 from 142 balls.

26.1Fuller, outside off, driven towards point.

25.6DROPPED! And Glenn Maxwell, of all the people! Well, this is just not Australia's day or night. Fuller, around off, Virat Kohli looks to turn it across the line but the ball holds on the surface a bit, gets a hint of away turn and induces a leading edge. The bowler tries to take it to his left but the ball zips past. But Glenn Maxwell at cover, anticipates well and dives to his right, going for a one-hander. Cannot hang on. Did Connolly get in his way? Maxwell is not impressed with the rookie.

25.5Fuller, around middle and off, 83.8 kph, Iyer stays leg side of the ball and drives it towards long off for one.

25.4Shorter in length, outside off, slapped towards point again.

25.3Outside off, a bit of extra bounce, pushed towards point.

25.2A touch short, around off, Virat Kohli gets back and works it through mid-wicket for a run. The stand moves to 90 (106).

25.1Landed around off, Shreyas Iyer gets across and punches it down the ground towards long on for a single.

24.6Flighted on the stumps, Kohli dabs it on the pitch.

24.5FOUR! Through the gap! FIFTY NUMBER 74 IN ODIs FOR VIRAT KOHLI! A typical Virat Kohli innings this, another masterclass in the run chase. Dropped shorter and on middle and leg, Virat Kohli uses the depth of the crease and pulls it hard through the vacant deep square leg region for a boundary. The fielder from deep mid-wicket chases it by running across to his right, but the ball has got enough wheels on it. He has paced his innings quite well and is dictating terms at the moment! He raises his bat and soaks in all the applause from the crowd and the Indian dressing room. But, the job is half done, and he will be aiming to bat through.

24.4Too full, on off, Shreyas Iyer shovels it out to deep cover for another one.

24.3Fuller, on middle and leg, VK clips it along the ground to deep square leg for one more.

24.2Easy two there! Pushed through fuller and outside off, Virat Kohli carves it between mid off and cover for a couple of runs. A long pocket there as Ben Dwarshuis scoots to his left from long off and mops it up.

24.1Slider on a length, on middle and leg, Shreyas gets inside the line and steers it to deep square leg for one.

Double change. Adam Zampa is back on. 4-0-13-0 so far.

23.6Back of a length, just outside off, punched away to cover by Kohli. India need another 143 runs to win from 26 overs remaining.

23.5Darts in a low full toss, on pads, Shreyas Iyer flicks it and beats the diving Glenn Maxwell at mid on for a single.

23.4Tossed fuller, on off, Virat Kohli plays with a straight bat and drives it down to long off for a single.

23.3A yard behind fuller length, spinning gently away from off, Virat Kohli is quick to use the depth of the crease and cuts it to deep backward point for a couple of more runs.

23.2Bowls it a tad bit fuller, on the pads, Iyer turns it away to deep mid-wicket for a single.

Smith is desperate for a breakthrough here. Unlike the norm, the Aussies are looking a bit down on the field.

23.1Cooper Connolly is back on. Bowls it flat and short, on off, Iyer pats it off the back foot to the bowler.

22.6No dot in this over, and 7 off it. On a good length, on top of the stumps, Shreyas Iyer knocks it down to long on for an easy single.

22.5Speared in fuller, on middle, Virat Kohli leans on it and clips it wide of long on for a single.

22.4And again! Fuller from Maxwell, on off, Shreyas Iyer again scoops it towards deep fine leg to rotate the strike.

22.3Cheeky there! Flat and quick at 96.2 kph, on the stumps on a length, Shreyas Iyer scoops it over the keeper's head for a couple of runs to widish fine leg.

22.2Slower and around off, on a length, Virat Kohli has enough time to use the depth of the crease and punch it down to long on for one.

22.1Drifting onto the pads, on a good length, Shreyas Iyer gets inside the line and nudges it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

21.6Good length, outside off, Iyer rocks back and cuts it to deep backward point for a single. So four singles off Sangha's third over.

21.5Slower and fuller, on the leg stump line, Virat Kohli lunges forward and wrists it along the ground wide of square leg for another run.

21.4Slightly pulls the length back, on off, Shreyas Iyer hangs back and cuts it to deep backward point. Another single.

21.3Pushed through, on middle and leg, full in length, Shreyas Iyer leans on it and drives it out to mid off.

21.2Back of a length, just outside off, Virat cuts it past cover-point for a single.

21.1On a good length, spins away from middle, Virat Kohli hangs back and punches it to the right of the bowler. Sangha dives to his right and intercepts.

20.6Flat, outside off, on a fullish length, Shreyas backs away and cuts it late to short third.

20.5Drags the length, on the pads, Virat Kohli tickles it through short fine leg and takes a single.

20.4Slower and fuller around off, Shreyas Iyer shuffles across and scoops it over short fine leg for a single. Tanveer Sangha cuts it off to his right.

20.3Flat and quick, on off, Shreyas Iyer taps it across with soft hands to the leg side.

20.2Dishes out on a fuller length, in front of the sticks, pushed back to the bowler.

20.1Pushed through, fuller and on the stumps, Virat Kohli drills it along the ground to long on for a single.

After 20 overs, India are 103/2. At the same stage, Australia were 105/2. Here's Glenn Maxwell.

19.6Outside off, dabbed towards short third for a run. 10 from the over. Tanveer Sangha's figures read 2-0-13-0.

19.5Sangha now follows it up with a shorter ball and Kohli, expecting it, is right back in his crease. Works it through mid-wicket and gets a couple.

19.4FOUR! That's a bad ball. A full toss, down the leg sid,e 88.3 kph, Virat Kohli gets down and sweeps it to the right of short fine leg. 100 UP FOR INDIA, 165 more needed from 182 balls. Kohli moves to 31 (38) with his third boundary.

19.3Another single! Flighted, on the fuller side again and around off, eased on the up and through wide mid off for one.

19.2These two just keeping the scoreboard ticking here. Floated up, full again and on the pads, Kohli clips it away through square leg and picks up another single.

19.1Tossed up, nice and full on off, Iyer gets on the front foot and pushes it down to long off for a single.

DRINKS BREAK. Inexperience is seen writ large in the Aussie bowling attack. They got the first two wickets but since then, have just not been able to put any kind of pressure on India. Both, Kohli and Iyer are calmly milking the singles and also getting the boundaries in between. The required rate is just a shade above 5.5 and unless Australia pick up quick wickets, that required rate is not going to trouble the batters much. The pitch has slowed down slightly and because of the cool breeze in evening conditions, under the floodlights, the ball is swinging a touch as well. But nothing alarmingly. The problem for Smith is - every time he throws the ball to someone, it is in more of a hope of a wicket than a demand of a wicket, as opposed to the norm, in the presence of Cummins, Starc or Hazlewood.

18.650-RUN STAND UP IN 67 BALLS! A length ball, around middle and off, Shreyas Iyer clips it to deep mid-wicket for a run.

18.5On a good length, around middle and leg, Kohli gets outside the line and milks it towards long leg for a single.

18.4A bit wider outside off, Virat Kohli reaches out and throws his bat at it but misses.

18.3Slower again, short of a length and over middle, Iyer gets on top of the bounce and pulls it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

18.2Oh, buzzers! Marnus Labuschagne will feel he's a bit hard done by there. Back of a length, slower and outside off, Iyer stays back and nudges it down behind backward point before setting off for the single. Marnus scores a direct hit at the keeper's end but the ball deflects away behind square and the batters pick up the second run.

18.1Around the wicket comes Dwarshius and floats it up full, on off and right at the batter, Shreyas Iyer just blocks it off.

Double change. Ben Dwarshuis returns. 4-0-23-1 so far.

17.6Short, outside off, 84.6 kph, heaved down to long on for a single. 3 runs from Sangha's opener.

17.5Short, outside off, 95.1 kph, Iyer rocks back to cut but finds Marnus Labuschagne at point.

17.4Fuller, around middle and off, 86.1 kph, Shreyas Iyer defends it to the off side.

17.3Shortens the length now, bowls it around off and extracts some turn again, Kohli taps it off the back foot in front of point and picks up a single.

17.2Tossed up, quite full and straight, hit away down to long on for a run by Shreyas.

17.1Iyer right away moves in his crease to throw off the new bowler. This is flighted up on off, gets some turn off the pitch as well, Iyer eases it towards cover.

Okay. This kid has been kept in the closet for long enough, but has to be brought out in the open now, into the frying pan. Smith would have wanted him to bowl with Kohli dismissed but it is as it is. Here's Tanveer Sangha with a trial by fire.

16.6Landed outside off, quicker ball, 93.2 kph, fractionally short of full, Shreyas leans and punches it through the covers for a single.

16.5Fuller, outside off, 83.2 kph, the googly, Iyer leans and pushes it back to the bowler.

16.4Short, outside off, Shreyas Iyer rocks back and cuts it through point where the fielder dives to his left and makes a good stop.

16.3Tossed up again, full and on middle, Kohli clears the front leg and drills it down to long on for a single.

16.2Tosses this one up, fractionally fuller and on off, Kohli lunges but doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball and just checks the drive across to mid-wicket.

16.1Nicely flighted, full and around off, sliding in, Iyer leans on and caresses the drive through covers for a single.

15.6FOUR! BLAST! Ellis goes short and Kohli keeps the travel of the ball even shorter. Outside off, Virat Kohli quickly swivels and pulls it through square leg for a boundary. That made it to the fence in a flash. That's 8000 RUNS FOR VIRAT KOHLI in ODIs, in run chases alone!

15.5A bit too straight, 131.4 kph, on a length, Iyer clips it through square leg for a single.

15.4On a good length, around off, Shreyas Iyer defends it down the pitch.

15.3Pitches the ball up now and angles it into the pads, wristed away by VK behind square leg for an easy single.

15.2Ellis takes a tumble on the follow-through and bowls it back of a length again. This is on a tight line around off and Kohli just dabs it from close to the body down to short third.

15.1Back of a length and around off, Iyer presses back up on his toes and punches it through covers for a single.

After 15 overs, India are 75/2. Australia were 76/2 at this same stage. Nothing much to choose. With nothing happening, Steve Smith goes back to Nathan Ellis. 4-0-23-0 so far.

14.6Huge shout for LBW, not given! Australia do not take the review. It was the googly, around off, seemed like Kohli did not pick it. Looked to flick but missed and was hit on the pads. Smith had a chat with his bowler and keeper and eventually decided not to waste his review. Good call. Ball Tracking shows it to be spinning past leg stump.

14.5Tossed up, outside off, 90.6 kph, Iyer thumps it through the covers for one more.

14.4Fuller, around off, 93.3 kph, Virat leans and picks off another single towards long on.

14.3The googly, on middle and leg, 85.7 kph, Shreyas Iyer gets across and nudges it through mid-wicket for a run. The stand moves to 30 (40).

14.2Shorter and quicker, outside off, 94.1 kph, Kohli rocks back and cuts it behind point for a single.

14.1Thrown up, outside off, 86.9 kph, Virat Kohli leans and drives it towards cover.

13.6Fuller, around off, Iyer leans and clips it towards short mid-wicket.

13.5Fuller, outside off, Virat leans and works it through mid on for one.

13.4Landed outside off, punched down to long off for a run.

13.3FOUR! Good placement. Similar ball to the previous one, this time Shreyas Iyer steps to the leg side and then gets across, reaching the ball and punching the ball behind point, just opening the face of his bat at the last moment. Moves to 16 (18) with his third boundary. 196 more needed from 219 balls.

13.2A touch shorter, outside off, 84.5 kph, Kohli punches it to the left of cover this time, for a single.

13.1Landed outside off, 86.8 kph, Virat Kohli goes back and punches it towards cover.

12.6Landed outside off, much quicker, 95.4 kph, the wrong 'un, Shreyas mistimes his punch towards cover.

12.5Fuller, outside off, 88.1 kph, spinning away, Iyer drives it towards point.

12.4Full, around off, 88 kph, possibly the googly, Virat drives it towards long off for one.

12.3Landed outside off, Shreyas Iyer eases this through the covers for a run.

12.2Tossed up again, a bit too full, outside off, Kohli drives it through the covers for a single.

12.1Floated, outside off, 91.6 kph, Virat Kohli drives it towards cover.

11.6Fractionally short, outside off, Iyer punches it towards cover.

11.5Similar ball, 87.5 kph, this time VK drives it to the other side of that cover fielder, to his right, towards long off, for one.

11.4Full, around off, 83.9 kph, Virat drives it through the covers but the fielder dives to his left in that position and stops the ball.

11.3Landed outside off, a touch short, Shreyas Iyer camps back and punches it through the covers for a run.

11.2Fuller, outside off, 89.2 kph, Kohli drives it towards long off for a single.

11.1Landed outside off, 85.6 kph, spinning away, Virat Kohli hangs back and pushes it to the off side.

10.6A touch short, outside off, Shreyas punches it towards point.

10.5A bit quicker from Zampa, the googly, around off, Iyer looks to drive it through the covers but the ball goes straight on and takes the inner half of the bat, back to the bowler.

10.4On middle and leg, driven back to the bowler.

10.3Short, outside off, Shreyas Iyer goes right back and cuts it to the left of sweeper cover, for a couple.

10.2Fuller, around middle, watchfully defended.

10.1Outside off, chipped past cover, to his right, for a single. 209 more needed from 239 balls.

POWERPLAY 2 time. 4 fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle till the 40th over. Here comes Adam Zampa. Australia were 63/2 at this stage.

9.6Around off, driven towards cover. 55/2 are India then, after Powerplay 1.

9.5FOUR! BELLIGERENT! A freebie from Connolly, a high full toss on middle, Iyer gets down and mows the sweep through square leg!

9.4Fuller, around middle, watchfully defended.

9.3EDGED, FOUR! Quicker through the air, just short of full, outside off, Shreyas Iyer goes hard on the cut but the length is not there for that shot. The bottom hand comes off the bat while the ball flies off the outside edge, just past Steve Smith at slip, to his right and races to the deep third fence. Off the mark in streaky fashion. 50 UP FOR INDIA as well. 214 more needed from 243 balls.

9.2Fuller, outside off, Iyer drives it towards cover this time.

9.1A short ball, outside off, Shreyas Iyer punches it towards cover.

8.6FOUR! That's well played. The dots were building up, 9 in a row before this ball and Virat Kohli breaks the rut. Overpitched, outside off, Kohli comes forward and lofts it cleanly over the bowler for a boundary down to long off. 218 more needed from 246 balls.

8.5Full and straight, flicked straight to short mid-wicket.

8.4On a good length, outside off, VK stays back and dabs it towards deep third but it is intercepted by backward point.

8.3Ooohhh.... on a good length, outside off, Kohli feels for it but the ball nips away a fraction, bounces extra and beats the outside edge.

8.2Fuller, around off, Virat pushes it towards cover.

8.1Nathan Ellis gets a change of ends. Starts with a length ball, aroiund middle and off, Virat Kohli whips it straight to short mid-wicket.

7.6Outside off, a smidgen short, Shreyas Iyer punches it towards cover. Just a run and a wicket from Connolly's opener.

Shreyas Iyer walks in next at number 4, replacing his skipper, Rohit Sharma.

7.5OUT! LBW! Will Rohit take the review? Yes, he does. Unless there was bat involved, this looked pretty close to the naked eye. It was a full ball, in line of the stumps and Rohit Sharma went for the big sweep. Missed and was hit on the pads. Connolly appealed and it did not take long for Chris Gaffaney to raise his finger. By the looks on Rohit's face, he probably understood that he was a goner, but still went for a second opinion towards Kohli. Eventually, with a second left on the DRS timer, Rohit took the review. UltraEdge detected nothing when the ball went past the bat and Ball Tracking showed it to be pitching around middle and leg, spinning away slightly and hitting the leg stump. The gamble from Smith pays off as Rohit Sharma departs for 28 (29) after being dropped twice! From 30/0, India are now 43/2 and need another 222 from 253 balls.

7.4Fuller, around middle and off, the skipper defends.

7.3Landed outside off, 88.2 kph, Rohit Sharma watches the ball closely and lets it go.

7.2Fuller, around middle, Virat Kohli flicks it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

7.1Landed outside off, pushed towards point.

Gamble from Smith. With two right handers in the middle and Rohit eager to finish this chase off in 40 overs, the Aussie skipper has thrown the ball to the rookie, Cooper Connolly.

6.6On a good length, around middle, 133.7 kph, Rohit hops and dabs it towards backward point.

6.5A length ball, outside off, Virat hammers it through the covers but Travis Head makes a very good half stop to his right, parrying it towards the bowler. The single is taken but that was a certain boundary.

6.4Full and straight, Kohli looks to tap and run to the off side but goes back to his crease.

6.3Fuller, outside off, 130.5 kph, the skipper blasts it through the covers for a run.

6.2The cutter, around off, angling away, Rohit Sharma defends it to the off side.

6.1On a good length, around off, pushed towards mid off for a single.

5.6FOUR! BANG! Well, you don't get too many chances to play against a second-string Aussie team and Rohit wants to make the most of this opportunity. A length ball, around off, Rohit Sharma just wallops down the track and hammers it straight back, nearly taking the umpire with the shot! Luckily the official ducks in time. 226 more needed from 264 balls.

5.5Fuller, outside off, 131.2 kph, hint of away swing, Kohli reaches out and drives it sweetly through the covers for another single.

5.4On a good length again, closer to the off stump, Sharma works it through mid-wicket. The ball races away but so does Glenn Maxwell from mid on, who practically gets there in 6-7 steps. Keeps the batters to one.

5.3Fuller, around off, 129.7 kph, hint of away shape, Virat Kohli comes forward to work it to the leg side but is squared up slightly. The ball goes off the leading edge through the covers and Kohli is off the mark with a run.

5.2On a good length, outside off, the skipper punches it through the covers to the deep where Tanveer Sangha sweeps it off to his left. A single taken.

5.2WIDE. A length ball, outside off, Rohit looks to punch it through the off side but the ball pitches and then seams away off the deck. The skipper then lets it go.

5.1Fuller, around off, Rohit Sharma times this sweetly to the left of mid off but cannot beat the man.

Nothing much to choose between the two teams after 5 overs. Australia were 31/1, with Travis Head dropped once, while India are 30/1, with Rohit Sharma being dropped twice. Here's Virat Kohli now, at number 3, replacing Shubman Gill.

4.6OUT! BOWLED'EM! Ben Dwarshuis gets the breakthrough for Australia here! Dwarshuis hits the deck hard, and keeps bowling on that in-between length, Shubman Gill is on the back foot and tries to guide it to the short third region, but plays a half-hearted shot pushing at it. Ends up getting a thick, healthy inside edge as the ball disturbs the furniture. Shubman Gill departs on 8 (11).

4.5On a hard length around leg. Rohit Sharma clips to short fine leg for one.

4.4INSIDE EDGE AND FOUR! Not distantly near to where he intended to hit, but he will take it. Speared in, fuller and around off, Rohit Sharma sits down to play the premeditated sweep but inside-edges it and the ball beats the diving keeper, Josh Inglis, to his left, for a boundary to fine leg.

4.3Hits the deck hard, does Ben Dwarshuis, on top of the stumps. Rohit Sharma hops on the back foot and stabs it on the pitch.

4.2On the back of a length on the middle stump. Shubman Gill knocks in front of point for a single.

4.1FOUR! And there comes his favourite stroke! Not at all a bad ball from Ben Dwarshuis. On a good length, on top of off, Shubman Gill charges down a bit and short arm-jabs it. Threads the gap neatly between mid on and mid-wicket, along the ground for a cracking boundary.

4.1WIDE! He will have to reload that one again! Sprayed way down leg, on a length, Shubman misses to flick and Josh Inglis dives to his left to grab it. Sharp take from the keeper there.

3.6On the fuller side and angling in but this one just nibbles away off the seam, Gill leans on and clips it away wide of square leg for one more.

3.5Short of a length this time, straighter as well, Sharma works it off the back foot through mid-wicket for a single.

3.4Oh, that is a JAFFA from Ellis! Immaculate length, not all that full and pitches it up on off. Rohit Sharma looks to block down the line but the ball nips away off the deck with some additional bounce and bamboozles the Indian skipper.

3.3Good-length delivery in the channel, tapped away from the crease but straight to point.

3.2Good pressure being created here by the pacers but they haven't been backed up thus far. Bangs it in a touch short and over off, no room for Rohit to work with and gets hit on the glove a he looks to dab it down on the off side.

3.1Pitched up in and around off, shaping away sharply this time, Rohit takes half a step forward but is hurried and just dabs it off the face of the bat down to short third.

2.6IN THE AIR...DROPPED! Rohit Sharma has been put down twice and we are just in the third over! Marnus Labuschagne is the man this time who shells it. But fair to say, Marnus had to cover a lot of yards running across, and those are never easy to take! Fuller and on off, Rohit Sharma takes his front foot out to loft it over cover, but the bat twists at the point of contact and hence, Rohit doesn't get the desired timing on that one. It lobs up in the air, behind cover and mid off. Marnus Labuschagne from mid off runs to his left and puts a dive to catch it. But by the looks of it, Marnus just overruns a bit, and the ball is shelled down. Quite similar to that 2023 World Cup Final catch where Travis Head was the fielder who took a stunner, and Rohit had mistimed it stepping out of the crease. But this time, the Indian skipper gets a reprieve. Also, a single taken.

2.5A yard fuller on the shorter side, on the stumps, Shubman Gill stands tall and jabs it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

2.4Fourth dot in a row from Dwarshuis! Hits the deck hard, on middle and leg, Shubman Gill tucks it across to mid-wicket.

2.3Slanting outside off, on a hard length, Shubman Gill waits for it and opens the bat face, and guides it to short third.

2.2On a fullish length, around off, Shubman Gill presses forward and eases it out to the off side.

2.1Almost chopped on! Across off on a good length, Shubman Gill tries to cut it square but gets a big inside edge. The ball bounces back to the keeper, past the off stump.

1.6Good length on off and middle, Rohit just clips it across to mid-wicket. 8 off Ellis' first over.

1.5Sweetly timed to get off the mark! Short of a length and in the channel, Gill leans back and punches it square through covers for a single.

1.4Good length on the pads, flicked away down to a widish fine leg for a single.

1.3Did that carry? The reactions of the Aussie players sure indicate that it did. Nerves from the young Cooper Connolly and just like Australia, an Indian opener now gets an early life. Back of a length from Ellis, around the fifth stump line, Rohit looks to get on his toes and punch it away but gets it a bit uppishly and down towards point. It is a straightforward chance to Connolly there and he goes low to his right but gets his hands crossed and the ball bobbles out of his hands.

1.2SIX! You cannot bowl there to Rohit Sharma at that pace! Slightly short and around off, just sitting up, Sharma stands tall and clobbers it straight down the ground, over long on for the first biggie of the chase.

1.1A hint of away movement! Starts over the wicket, bustles in and bowls it on a good length in the channel. Sharma prods halfway and just eases it with the shape to point.

Should be Nathan Ellis from the other end with the second new ball but will Smith try any antics by giving the ball to Maxwell or Head? Nope. Nothing fancy. It will be Ellis with the second new ball.

0.6On a good length and on the stumps. Shubman Gill works it towards mid off.

0.5IN THE AIR...Lands safe in the deep! Fuller from Dwarshuis, angling back into the batter, on middle and leg, Rohit Sharma clips it aerially over mid-wicket and runs the first two quickly as the ball trickles towards the fence. Glenn Maxwell from the inner ring gives it a chase and flicks the ball, before the ropes, and lobs towards the other converging fielder. Meanwhile, the batters cross for the third run.

0.4Slants it around off, on a length, Rohit Sharma shuffles into the line and tucks it back to the bowler.

0.3On a good length, across off, Rohit Sharma lets the ball arrive, plays it a bit late and guides it to short third.

0.2FOUR! Helped away! India and Rohit Sharma are off the mark in this chase! Angling on the pads this time around, with a tinge of inswing, Rohit Sharma picks it up nicely and flicks it behind square for a boundary at deep backward square leg.

0.1On the money, is Ben Dwarshuis! Little bit of an inward shape, on a good length, on top of middle. Rohit Sharma gets inside the line and taps it on the surface.
