L&T gains 1% on orders in UP, Mumbai, Ethiopia, South East Asia

    Shares of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) gained 1 percent intraday Tuesday on getting orders in Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, Ethiopia and South East Asia.

    "Construction arm of Larsen & Toubro has won orders worth Rs 1,672 crore for buildings & factories and power transmission & distribution businesses," says the country's largest engineering firm.

    Its buildings & factories business has bagged orders worth Rs 967 crores from UP Avas Vikas Parisad for multi-storied residential project in Lucknow. It also included another turnkey order in Mumbai for construction of a multi-storied residential building and retail space.

    The company say power transmission & distribution business has bagged new orders worth Rs 580 crore from Ethiopian Electric Power and South East Asia-based company for substations.

    Additional orders worth Rs 125 crore also received from ongoing jobs of L&T Construction’s water & effluent treatment business.

    With this order, L&T's total order inflow for the current quarter stood at Rs 16,185 crore.

    At 10:46 hours IST, the scrip of Larsen and Toubro was quoting at Rs 1,194.55, up Rs 10.80, or 0.91 percent on the BSE.Posted by Sunil Shankar Matkar
