Aviation in a sweet spot; see no major disruptions due to grounded aircrafts: Pros

The number of aircrafts grounded are not very large and so it is unlikely that there will be a major disruption for the sector and Indigo, Kapil kaul, CEO, India Subcontinent, CAPA.

The aviation space has been buzzing as Indigo canceled 47 flights after DGCA grounded aircrafts with faulty engines. The sector was also in limelight after the air passenger traffic growth in month of January was very strong at a 11-month high.

To discuss the outlook for the sector and what the above developments means, CNBC-TV18 spoke to Kapil kaul, CEO, India Subcontinent, Centre for Asia-Pacific Aviation and Mayur Milak, Senior Research Analyst, IndiaNivesh Securities.

Experts are of the view the issue of grounded aircrafts want have an operational performance of Indigo. Kaul said the number of aircrafts grounded are not very large and so it is unlikely that there will be a major disruption for the sector and Indigo.

Milak said aviation sector is in a sweet spot and loss of one player could be gain for the other players. So problems with Indigo might benefit SpiceJet and Jet Airways.
