Nifty 5700 Call adds 10.4 lakh shares in OI

Nifty Futures shed 8.2 lakh shares in OI and ended at premium of 15 points as against 4 points. Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 0.95 from 0.97.

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 475 crore in Index Futures, which open interest (OI) was down by 12,486 contracts. They were net buyers of Rs 471 crore in Stock Futures, which OI was down by 9001 contracts.


Nifty Futures shed 8.2 lakh shares in OI and ended at premium of 15 points as against 4 points. Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 0.95 from 0.97.


Nifty 5700 Call added 10.4 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 5500 Put added 7 lakh shares in OI and Nifty February 5200 Put added 2.6 lakh shares in OI.


Short covering and marginal cash buying were seen in SBI and Bajaj Auto on Tuesday. SBI rose 3%; its OI was down by 10% and delivery volume increased at 10.4 lakh equity shares as against 6.7 lakh shares.


Bajaj Auto shot up 4.6%; its OI was down 16% and delivery volume jumped at 9 lakh shares versus 6.3 lakh.


Speculative buying was seen in Hindalco, which surged 5.3%. Its OI was up 3% and delivery volume declined at 34 lakh shares as against 72 lakh.


Speculative buying and short covering were seen in Praj Industries, which rose 6.8%. Its open interest was down by 5%.

Fresh shorts and cash based selling were seen in Unitech. The stock was down 5.7%; its OI was up by 5% and delivery volume increased to 79 lakh shares versus 39 lakh.
