Indian-origin VC gets 2 hours with Trump at Mar-a-Lago before US-Israel struck Iran: 'Humbled'

Asha Jadeja Motwani said she had seen members of Donald Trump’s team — including Steve Witkoff, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Jared Kushner, and others — moving repeatedly 'between the war room and the President’s residential area,' describing round‑the‑clock activity.

Indian-American venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani has recently shared that she spent “two hours with US President Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago” on the night he decided to cease all negotiations with Iran and begin a military operation led jointly with Israel.

Describing the period as one that would “change the history of our planet forever," Motwani wrote that she and about 20 others were dining with Trump at his Palm Beach residence, discussing midterm elections while the impending Iran operation dominated concerns within the group.

"Feeling humbled that we got 2 hours with President Trump in Mar-a-Lago last night," she wrote.

Motwani noted that the gathering followed strict no‑phone rules, consistent with how Trump’s inner circle often operates at Mar‑a‑Lago resort, which has long functioned as an exclusive political hub and cultural symbol of his presidency. It is described as a space where Trump’s allies move between social influence and political proximity.

'War room activity' and a tightly-guarded operation

In her post, Motwani said she had seen members of Trump’s team — including Steve Witkoff, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Jared Kushner, and others — moving repeatedly “between the war room and the President’s residential area,” describing round‑the‑clock activity.

"As always, Trump works around the clock. 7 days a week," she added.

Her description of ongoing high‑level briefings matched the rapid pace of developments that followed. Within 24 hours, Trump announced what he called the start of “major combat operations in Iran,” declaring Khamenei dead and framing the strikes as a historic turning point for the region. Multiple outlets reported the same sequence: US‑Israel attacks across Iran, widespread casualties, and Iran’s retaliation across the region.

'So proud of our team': Atmosphere at Mar-a-Lago

Motwani portrayed the group at Mar‑a‑Lago as celebratory and supportive of Trump’s course of action. She described attendees as “friends of the President,” jokingly calling themselves the “paparazzi” as they moved around the grounds.

Her post ended with praise for Trump’s inner circle — “We are doing gangbusters! So proud of our team!” — even as the region descended into one of its most significant escalations in years.

The night US-Israel hit Iran

The night Motwani referenced saw simultaneous US‑Israel strikes on targets in Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and other Iranian cities, killing senior officials and triggering widespread retaliatory fire. CNBC and CBS reported internet outages across Iran, cross‑border missile exchanges, and rising regional instability.

Reports also indicated fallout extending into the Gulf: airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi suffered damage from debris during Iranian retaliation, with injuries and at least one death confirmed by local authorities.
