The Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and the Cambridge English Language Assessment (part of the University of Cambridge) have joined hands to provide help to the students from the state in enhancing their language and communication skills.

The Cambridge English Language Assessment (CELA) has signed an MoU with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) in this regard, an official release said, adding that aim of the MoU was to improve the quality of English teaching and learning in the TASK-registered colleges.

"It also aims to introduce a standardised international testing system for English which is linked to the CEFR international benchmarks across a pilot branch of students from TASK registered colleges and to organise joint conferences, workshops, seminars and other short term training programmes related to English language teaching," it said.

As many as 478 colleges and 36,720 students in Telangana have registered with TASK in the academic year 2016-2017.

TASK's initiatives are focused on the concept of 'Employability Quotient' that includes three key skill dimensions, namely, personal, technical and organisational.

Cambridge English is a leading global authority on English language testing.
