Encouraging small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to list on its platform, NSE has said listing will help such companies raise capital for their growth and provide visibility.

"Listing on an exchange platform will help SMEs raise capital for their growth and provide several benefits like visibility, business growth, wealth creation and potentially enter into strategic partnerships," said Ravi Varanasi, Chief Business Development, NSE.

He was addressing SMEs at the MSME convention organised at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar.

Varanasi also emphasised on importance of SMEs in the Indian economy and the role of NSE in handholding and supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises.

He listed out the eligibility criteria for SMEs to list on NSE 'Emerge' and spoke about the ease of access for these small and medium firms.

The Emerge platform for small and medium enterprises was launched by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in 2012.

The MSME department of Gujarat provides a subsidy of up to Rs 5 lakh to support small and medium enterprises to get listed on the SME platform of an exchange.
