MTV launches Dropout Pvt. Ltd, to create a startup on live TV

The television show aims at recruiting dropouts from jobs or colleges and recruit them for an ideal startup team.

For thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs in the country who wish to be part of an innovative startup journey, a new realty TV show is likely to give vent to their dreams.

Viacom18 owned music and entertainment channel MTV India is starting a new television show called Dropout Pvt Ltd which is aimed at providing a platform to budding entrepreneurs in the country and mentor them on the platform.

The show aims at creating a company and ideal founding team first time on live television.

“The country is brimming with young untapped ideas and this show can become a largest platform for that untapped ideas. A research done by MTV discloses that 81 percent of youth wants to have their own business,” said Ferzad Palia, head, of Youth, Music and English Entertaiment at Viacom18.

The show aims to give a birth to a startup which will be formed following nationwide participants and auditions.

It will also take viewers through the process of identifying and transforming ‘dropouts’ in life recruiting them in an ideal start-up team and kick starting their entrepreneurial journey.

Palia added that MTV India will give platform to innovative ideas and motivate contestants to dream big and achieve their goals.

These selected contestants will face challenges where they have to solve real-world business problems in a short time.

The show will be premiered on July 29 at 7 pm on MTV India.

Shopclues and Droom cofounder Sandeep Aggarwal, Games2Win cofounder and CEO Alok Kejriwal, Mydala CEO Anisha Singh along with the show’s hosts and creators Raghu Ram and Rajiv Laxman, co-founders of Monozygotic will be part of the auditions.
