SME Mentor Growth Series seminars kick off in Kolkata

The SME Mentor Growth Series, a seminar for CEOs of small and medium enterprises, started its first leg in Kolkata. Its aim is to provide CEOs of small and medium enterprises, key insights that they need to take their companies from being good companies to great companies.

The event was held in Hotel and was attended by over 80 CEOs of small and medium enterprises.

The session was opened by George D'Souza, vice president - Content solutions, Moneycontrol.com, who talked about the various hurdles that owners of small and medium enterprises have to cross in taking their companies from good to great companies.

At the event, Joydeep Sarkar, Vodafone’s deputy general manager of enterprise business, unveiled enterprise solutions from Vodafone. Among the case studies illustrated were one of Tasty Dairy Farm in Kanpur, which installed Vodafone’s enterprise solutions that helped it scale its business six times.

Sarabjit Singh, executive vice president of Religare Finvest, introduced financial solutions for small and medium enterprises, especially term loans and working capital finance. He said that Religare Finvest funded companies up to Rs 1 crore unsecured, which was a first in the industry.

Dell unveiled its scalable hardware platforms at the event. Anirban Acharya, Dell’s eastern territory manager, spoke about Dell’s service quality, by relating an example of a customer in Dhanbad, who got an adapter replaced within 24 hours. He also revealed Dell’s accidental damage replacement insurance policy, which allowed a customer to replace any part of Dell hardware, damaged by accident.

The event was attended by several leading CEOs and owners of small and medium enterprises. These included Rohit Agarwal of Sunita Garments, Evika Green Energy, Parthasarthy Basu of Cadillac Engineering Works, Sudip Sen of Stone Bio-Tech, among others.

The SME Mentor Growth Series seminar was organized by Moneycontrol.com, India's leading financial portal. The first phase of the event would include New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.
