Flipkart-owned Myntra now offers better discounts on products that are bought under the non-returnable option.

Customers can use the "Make (the product) non-returnable" option at the time of check out while making purchases through the website.

A maximum of 4 percent additional discount under the non-returnable option is available to most products in the apparel, lifestyle, electronics and home décor segments.

The measure will help the e-tailer save money on the reverse logistics, a source told The Economic Times.

The scheme is so far not available on Jabong and Flipkart Fashion.

"We keep experimenting with new features from time to time and scale them based on performance and user adoption," Amar Nagaram, Head of Myntra and Jabong said.

Walmart, which owns Flipkart, has a similar additional discount on its US-based e-commerce platform Jet.com.

Online fashion portals typically get 15-20 percent return rate for apparel, according to Wazir Advisors, a consultancy that tracks the retail industry.

Myntra has been trying to attract more customers with new products, discounts and offers.

Recently, Swedish apparel company H&M began selling its products on Myntra and Jabong.

Myntra has been struggling with profitability and reported a net loss of Rs 151.20 crore in FY18.

The company has seen some changes since parent Flipkart got acquired by Walmart in 2018.

Ananth Narayanan, chief of Myntra and Jabong, quit earlier this year.
