Nagaraj Shetti, Senior Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities

After showing downward correction in the last four sessions, Nifty rebounded slightly on Tuesday amidst range bound movement and closed the day higher by 113 points. Nifty opened on a positive note and moved up further soon after the opening. The upside momentum was fizzled out in the mid part but the market regained towards the end.

A reasonable positive candle was formed on the daily chart with minor upper shadow. Technically, this market action indicates an attempt of bounce back from near the lower supports of around 25000 levels. Further sustainable upside from here could confirm the short-term bottom reversal pattern for the market.

The bounce back of Tuesday could be a cheering factor for bulls to make a comeback. A sustainable move above the immediate resistance of 25350 could open more upside in the near term. Immediate support is placed at 25000 levels.

July 15, 2025· 16:14 IST

Mandar Bhojane, Senior Technical & Derivative Analyst - Research at Choice Equity Broking

Indian equity markets ended on a strong footing on July 15, with both benchmark indices closing higher. The Sensex rose by 317.45 points or 0.39% to settle at 82,570.91, while the Nifty climbed 113.50 points or 0.45% to close at 25,195.80. Market breadth remained positive, with 2,475 stocks advancing, 1,422 declining, and 148 remaining unchanged, indicating broad-based buying interest across sectors.

On the technical front, Nifty witnessed a sharp bounce after retesting the 25,000 major support level. A close above 25,250, which is also above the 20-day EMA, could signal a bullish continuation. If sustained, the index may move towards 25,400 and 25,600 as the next resistance levels. A bullish "morning star" candlestick formation near support further strengthens the case for a short-term uptrend. Immediate support remains at 25,000, and traders holding long positions can maintain a stop-loss at this level while aiming for targets of 25,700 and 26,000.

Bank Nifty too showed strength, closing above the key 57,000 mark and forming a morning star pattern, indicating a bullish reversal. If the index sustains above 57,200, it may head towards 58,000 and 58,700 in the near term. Price action also shows support from the 20-day EMA, with immediate support placed at 56,700 and 56,400 levels. The overall trend remains positive as long as these support zones hold.

India VIX dropped 4.28% to 11.48, suggesting easing volatility and improved trader sentiment. In the derivatives segment, the highest Call open interest for Nifty is seen at the 25,300 and 25,500 strikes, hinting at resistance near those levels. On the Put side, the highest open interest is at the 25,000 strike, reinforcing it as a strong support area. This combination of technical and derivative signals points towards a potential upside if key levels are held.

Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking

Markets witnessed some respite and edged marginally higher after four consecutive sessions of decline. Following a flat start, the Nifty attempted a recovery in the early hours, largely driven by buying interest in select heavyweights. However, the upside remained capped near the short-term moving average around the 25,250 level. Eventually, it settled at 25,195.80, up by 0.47%.

On the sectoral front, all key sectors ended in the green, with auto, pharma, and realty emerging as the top gainers. The positive sentiment extended to the broader markets as well, with both midcap and smallcap indices gaining nearly a percent each.

Participants drew comfort from the further easing of CPI inflation, which triggered notable buying in rate-sensitive sectors in hopes of a potential rate cut. However, continued disappointment from the IT space, following HCL Technologies' results, capped overall momentum. With the hurdle at the short-term moving average (20 DEMA) near 25,250 still intact, we suggest maintaining a cautious stance on the index and adopting a selective approach on the sectoral front.

Vaibhav Vidwani, Research Analyst at Bonanza

Today domestic market rebounded sharply as the Sensex closed over 317 points higher and Nifty scaled above the 25,150 mark. The market staged a positive reversal after a period of weakness, supported by broad-based gains across most sectors and energizing investor sentiment. The rally was led by the auto, pharma, and FMCG sectors, with Nifty Auto advancing by 1.50%, signaling underlying strength in consumption-driven themes and a recovery in key cyclical sectors.

PSU banks and realty stocks also attracted strong buying interest, reflecting optimism in public sector and infrastructure-linked segments. A stable global environment and encouraging domestic economic data contributed to risk-on sentiment. Investors appeared to look past recent global trade uncertainties and weak IT earnings, focusing instead on the resilient domestic macro backdrop.

Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst - Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities

Rupee traded positive with gains of 0.17% at 85.82 as dollar index volatility and weak crude prices provided supportive cues. A strong rally in the capital markets further bolstered rupee sentiment.

The rupee is expected to trade in a range of 85.55 to 86.25 in the near term.

July 15, 2025· 15:43 IST

Dilip Parmar – Senior Research Analyst, HDFC Securities

The Indian Rupee has regained ground against the US Dollar, reversing a recent two-day decline. This appreciation largely reflects renewed investor confidence in domestic equity markets and a softening of the US Dollar Index. Market participants are keenly awaiting the release of pivotal US inflation data later today, as it's expected to heavily influence future monetary policy decisions and deliberations over Federal Reserve leadership, especially amidst prevailing trade uncertainties.

The USDINR spot pair is projected to encounter resistance at 86.30 and find support at 85.55.

July 15, 2025· 15:41 IST

Aditya Gaggar Director of Progressive Shares

The Index began on a flat note but gradually compounded its gains; however, it trimmed some of the gains, and the Index ended the day at 25,195.80 with gains of 113.50 points. Sector-wise, all of them closed in the green, with Auto and Pharma stocks leading the rally. The broader market continued to outperform, as both the Midcap and Smallcap segments rose over 0.90% each.

A hidden bullish divergence in the RSI hints at a potential trend reversal. The 25,000 level remains a strong support area, while resistance is expected around the 25,325 mark.

Anuj Choudhary – Research Analyst at Mirae Asset Sharekhan

Indian Rupee edged higher on Tuesday as inflation cooled off and positive domestic equities. India’s CPI cooled off to a 6 ½ year low at 2.1% YoY in June 2025 vs 2.82% in May and forecast of 2.5%. however, a strong US Dollar and FII outflows capped sharp gains. US President Donald Trump delayed imposing sanctions on Russia by 50 days.

We expect Rupee to trade with a slight positive bias as cooling inflation and risk on sentiments after US did not impose tariffs on Russia as widely feared. However, rising crude oil prices and FII outflows may cap sharp gains. Traders may take cues from CPI inflation and Empire State manufacturing index data from the US. USDINR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 85.40 to Rs 86.10.
