Grasim appoints Sachin Sahay as CEO of Birla Opus Paints, shares rise

The company said Sahay has been appointed as CEO of Birla Opus Paints and will be designated as Senior Management Personnel of the company.

Grasim Industries Ltd on Friday said it has appointed Sachin Sahay as Chief Executive Officer of Birla Opus Paints.

In an exchange filing, the company said Sahay has been appointed as CEO of Birla Opus Paints and will be designated as Senior Management Personnel of the company, effective February 16, 2026.

The appointment comes over two months after the company announced the exit of Rakshit Hargave as CEO of the paints business.

Birla Opus Paints, which was launched in February 2024, has invested in manufacturing facilities across the country and rolled out aggressive pricing strategies to expand its presence in the domestic paints market.

Sahay joins from ITC Ltd, where he last served as Executive Vice President – Sales. He brings over three decades of experience in sales and marketing across multiple geographies and business segments.

At ITC, he was associated with the expansion of the FMCG business and has led brand launches, distribution scale-up across urban and rural markets, and several transformation initiatives, the company said.

Shares of Grasim Industries were trading higher at Rs 2,807.80 apiece on the NSE, up 0.43 per cent.
