The Indian benchmark indices ended lower in a volatile session on July 2, with Nifty below 25,500 amid selling seen in the realty, and financial names. At close, the Sensex was down 287.60 points or 0.34 percent at 83,409.69, and the Nifty was down 88.40 points or 0.35 percent at 25,453.40.

The GIFT Nifty is trading higher at around 25,565, indicating a firm opening for the day.
Asian Equities (Gain)
Asian shares edged up in the leadup to US jobs data, after stocks hit another record following Donald
Trump’s announcement of a trade deal with Vietnam.
US Equities (Up)
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at record highs on Wednesday, boosted by gains in technology stocks and a trade agreement between the U.S. and Vietnam that eased concerns over prolonged trade tensions.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed slightly lower but remained within 1.18% of its December 4 record close.
Wall Street has logged a string of record highs in recent weeks, reflecting a backdrop of choppy trading sessions and strong investor appetite for risk amid uncertainties around inflation, deficit and policy.
Nasdaq renewed its June 30 record, boosted by Nvidia, Apple and Tesla.
The S&P 500 gained 29.41 points, or 0.47%, to 6,227.42 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 190.24 points, or 0.94%, to 20,393.13. The Dow fell 10.52 points, or 0.02%, to 44,484.42.
US Bond Yield (Down)
The 10-year Treasury yield was down more than 1 bps at 4.26 percent, while 2-year Treasury yield was down 2 bps at 3.76 percent in the early trade on Thursday.
Dollar Index (Down)
The dollar wobbled on Thursday after a trade agreement between the United States and Vietnam fuelled optimism over potential future deals ahead of a July 9 tariff deadline, while investors looked to payrolls to assess the Federal Reserve's next steps.
Asian currencies (Gain)
Among Asian currencies except Indonesian Rupiah, all other currencies were trading higher with Taiwan Dollar gain the most followed by Philippines Peso, Malaysian Ringgit, Japanese Yen, Singapore Dollar, Thai Baht.
Crude (Slips)
Oil prices eased on Thursday, reversing gains from the previous session, on concerns over weak U.S. demand after government data showed a surprise build in inventories in the world's biggest crude consumer.
Gold (Down)
Gold eased after a three-day gain, before pivotal US jobs data due later Thursday that may shape the
outlook for the Federal Reserve’s monetary easing path.
Fund Flow Action
The Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 1561 crore on July 2, while Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought equities worth Rs 3036 crore on the same day.
