D-Street Buzz: Nifty IT outperforms as TCS, Infosys jump 3%; Jet Airways spikes 7%, DLF drags

Nifty IT is outshining all other indices, up over 2 percent led by Infosys which jumped 3 percent followed by Tata Consultancy Services, Oracle Financial Services, Tata Elxsi, Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech.

The Indian stock market has extended the morning gains in this afternoon session with the Nifty50 up 63 points, trading at 10,748 while the Sensex gained 266 points at 35,779.

Nifty IT is outshining all other indices, up over 2 percent led by Infosys which jumped 3 percent followed by Tata Consultancy Services, Oracle Financial Services, Tata Elxsi, Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech.

Nifty Media continues to trade on the positive side led by Zee Entertainment, INOX Leisure, Network18 Media and PVR.

However Nifty Realty shed 1 percent dragged by Godrej Properties, Indiabulls Real Estate, Sobha, Sunteck Realty and DLF.

From the BSE midcap space, the top gainers included Reliance Nippon, Mphasis and Max Financial Services while the top losers are DHFL, RBL Bank and Adani Transmission.

The top BSE smallcap losers are Hotel Leela, Sintex Plastics and Vadilal Industries while the top losers are Shankara Building Products, Infibeam and IL&FS Engineering.

The top gainers from NSE include TCS, Infosys, Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank and Hero MotoCorp.

The top losers included YES Bank, IOC, BPCL, Tata Motors and Bharti Infratel.

The most active stocks were YES Bank, Arvind, Infosys, TCS and Jet Airways.

Adani Transmission, Electrosteel Steels and Vindhya Telelinks are some of the few stocks which hit new 52-week high on the NSE.

56 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names like Arvind, ONGC, Max India, IL&FS Transportation Networks, RAIN Industries, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company and Prabhat Dairy among others.

The breadth of the market favoured the declines with 791 stocks advancing and 842 declining while 428 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 1121 stocks advanced, 1191 declined and 144 remained unchanged.
