D-Street Buzz: IT, pharma stocks gain led by Dr Reddy's Labs, Infosys; metals drag with JSPL at new 52-week low

The breadth of the market favoured the advances with 745 stocks advancing and 712 declining while 569 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 684 stocks advanced, 624 declined and 67 remained unchanged.

The Indian benchmark indices is trading on a flat note this Tuesday morning with the Nifty50 down 8 points, trading at 10,620 while the Sensex is down 19 points at 35,334.

Nifty metal is down over 1 percent dragged by JPSL, Hindalco Industries, JSW Steel, NALCO, SAIL, Tata Steel and NALCO.

Media stocks are also weak dragged by EROS International Media which is down close to 4 percent followed by Zee Entertainment and TV18 Broadcast.

From the oil & gas space, GAIL India is trading in the green while Reliance Industries has added half a percent.

IT and pharma stocks are trading in the green led by Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Tata Elxsi and KPIT Tech.

From the pharma space, the top gainers include Aurobindo Pharma, Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma and Piramal Enterprises.

The top gainers from NSE include Infosys, Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra and Coal India.

The top losers included JSW Steel, Bajaj Auto, Vedanta, Zee Entertainment and Bharti Airtel.

The most active stocks were YES Bank, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank and TCS.

Electrosteel Steels and Linde India are some of the few stocks which hit new 52-week high on the NSE.

30 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names like Bombay Rayon Fashions, IL&FS Transportation Networks, Jindal Steel & Power, Prabhat Dairy and Steel Authority of India among others.
