Lupin, UltraTech to replace SAIL, Sterlite in Nifty 50

The National Stock Exchange of India will include Lupin and UltraTech Cement in place of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) and Sterlite Industries India with effect from September 28, 2012.

    The National Stock Exchange of India will include Lupin and UltraTech Cement in place of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) and Sterlite Industries India with effect from September 28, 2012.

    State-owned SAIL was added in Nifty 50 in August 2003, in place of Nestle while Sterlite was included on April 2007, in place of Oriental Bank.

    In the Nifty Midcap 50 Index, the exchange has decided to include 10 stocks namely Bata India, Crompton Greaves, GMR Infrastructure, Hexaware Technologies, Hindustan Zinc, IFCI, Jubilant Foodworks, MRF, South Indian Bank and Sun TV Network.

    From September 28 onwards, Alstom India, Bajaj Holdings, BEML, Bharat Electronics, Cummins India, Educomp Solutions, GE Shipping, Indian Bank, Lanco Infratech and Oil India will not be a part of Midcap 50.

    The exchange will add KPIT Cummins, NIIT Technologies and Vakrangee Software in place of HCL Infosystems, OnMobile Global and Tulip Telecom in CNX IT Index.

    In case of CNX Infrastructure, the NSE will include IRB Infrastructure and JSW Energy in place of GE Shipping and Lanco Infratech.
