The Indian equity market was trading flat on Wednesday afternoon with the Nifty marginally up and was trading at 10,554 while the Sensex was up 26 points or 0.08 percent.
Nifty Realty was up close to 1 percent led by Godrej Properties which jumped 3 percent followed by Phoenix Mills which added 2 percent while Indiabulls Real Estate which was up 4 percent. Unitech and HDIL were the other gainers.
CNX FMCG space was also buzzing, up 2 percent led by Godrej Consumer which was up 5 percent followed by ITC which jumped 3 percent followed by Tata Global, Dabur India and Godrej Industries.
The top Nifty gainers included ITC which jumped 3.3 percent while Wipro from the IT space gained 2 percent. Zee Entertainment, UltraTech Cement and GAIL India were the other gainers, adding over 1 percent each.
The most active Nifty stocks included Vakrangee which added 5 percent followed by ITC, Infosys, ICICI Bank and Hindalco Industries.
The top BSE gainers included Bombay Burmah which jumped 8 percent followed by Godrej Consumer, Vakrangee, Indiabulls Ventures and Indiabulls Real Estate.
41 stocks hit fresh 52-week high including Divis Labs, Hindustan Unilever, Hexaware Tech, M&M Financial, Pidilite Industries, Nestle India, Mindtree, Titan and VIP Industries among others.
The market breadth was in favour of the declines with 783 stocks advancing while 938 declined and 323 remained unchanged. On the other hand, in the BSE, 1174 stocks advanced and 1388 declined and 144 remained unchanged.
