S N Subrahmanyan, in his first letter to the employees of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Group after assuming charge as chairman and managing director of the engineering major, said the world is going through massive changes in terms of ecosystem, energy change, sustainability as a way of life and they must speed and scale with the change to fulfil their customers’ demands.
“We cannot afford to rest on our laurels for our customers will continue seeking excellence from us every day. Our focus cannot waver from Performance, performance, performance”, Subrahmanyan said in his letter to the employees after taking charge of L&T on October 1.
The letter mentioned that digitization is rapidly becoming a huge aspect of business and there is a need to harness the power of technology to keep improving productivity and efficiency of the company.

He said, “We must believe in power of brand L&T and need to do whatever is required to do our best to work, lead and help to drive the value systems of the culture that is associated with the same.”
He also thanked A M Naik, the former Chariman of L&T, and board members for reposing their faith in him. Naik formally stepped down as Non-Executive Chairman of L&T on September 30, passing on the baton of $23-billion conglomerate to Subrahmanyan.
Subramanyan said that the organisation has a strong legacy of transforming lives as their work is woven into the very fabric of life, and it is for each one of them to put a mark on the future that they must build together.
