American author Walter Isaacson is in preliminary talks with Elon Musk to write the billionaire's biography, Fox Business has reported.
The Tesla founder and Isaacson have spoken over the phone in recent weeks, and the two will have more conversations this summer before Isaacson go ahead with the book, the news channel reported.
While Musk is interested in having a renowned author like Isaacson write his biography, it is unclear if he has agreed to it, the report said.
The author has not yet made a formal proposal to his publisher, Simon & Schuster, the report said.
Moneycontrol could not independently verify the story.
This would not be the first biography on Musk.
A spokesperson for Isaacson had no comment when contacted by Fox Business. A spokesperson for Musk had not yet responded.
Isaacson is known for his biography of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, which was published in 2011 and over 3 million copies have been sold.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Isaacson had likened Musk to Jobs.
"In some ways, he's the Steve Jobs of our time, he's crazy enough to think he can change the world and thus he might be one of the ones who do change the world," Isaacson said.
