Tata Metaliks has followed up a weak Q1 with strong numbers this time around. Topline has expanded nearly 40 percent and profits are up 55 percent. Lower other expenses too have boosted earnings.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Sandeep Kumar, MD, Tata Metaliks spoke about the results and his outlook for the company.

Pig iron and ductile iron divisions are doing well from the perspective of higher revenues, he said.

On goods and services tax (GST), he said that the issue is largely sorted out but there are still some variants which are in the process of getting sorted out.

Largely 60-70 percent of cases of ductile iron pipes GST issue has been sorted out for us, he added.

Pig iron spreads have moved from Rs 700 per tonne to Rs 2,600 per tonne in this quarter, said Kumar.

I would not want to comment on any specific assets but in general we have been looking at all options to grow both organic and inorganic, he further mentioned.
