Dish TV India may post Q2 loss Rs 11 cr: Poll

Net sales may jump 11.5 percent to Rs 660 crore in the quarter ended September 2014 from Rs 592 crore in same quarter last year driven by price hikes in June and August.

    Direct to home (DTH) operator Dish TV is likely to report a loss of Rs 11 crore in the quarter ended September 2014 compared to loss of Rs 16 crore in the year-ago period, according to the average of estimates of analysts polled by CNBC-TV18.

    Net sales may jump 11.5 percent to Rs 660 crore in the quarter ended September 2014 from Rs 592 crore in same quarter last year driven by price hikes in June and August.

    Operating profit is seen going up to Rs 160 crore from Rs 148 crore during the same period led by led by steady average revenue per user (ARPU), recovery in subscriber addition and stable content cost.

    Gross subscriber addition is expected to be 5 lakh and net subscriber addition is expected at 3 lakh.

    ARPU is expected to be around Rs 170 to 172 levels on the back of recent price hikes taken across packages.

    Analysts feel renegotiation of content cost with Zee and Star during the quarter may increase programming cost.

    Subscription revenue is expected to grow 4 percent sequentially led by healthy subscriber addition (driven by stable market share of Zing) and growth in ARPU.
