Tata Motors sales up 6% in June at 40,870 units

Tata Motors on Wednesday reported a 6 percent increase in total sales at 40,870 units vehicles in June as compared to 38,574 units in the same month last year.

    Tata Motors on Wednesday reported a 6 percent increase in total sales at 40,870 units vehicles in June as compared to 38,574 units in the same month last year.

    Domestic sales of Tata Motors' commercial and passenger vehicles stood at 35,823 units in June, showing a growth of 3 percent over 34,760 vehicles sold in June 2014, Tata Motors said in a statement.

    Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market in June stood at 10,281 units as against 7,911 units in the same month previous year, up 30 percent.

    The sales of the passenger cars in June 2015 were higher by 44 percent at 8,516 units as compared to 5,933 units in June 2014.

    The UV sales declined by 11 percent at 1,765 units in June 2015. In the commercial vehicles segment, domestic sales were at 25,542 units, a decline of 5 percent over June 2014, the company said.

    Exports during the month stood at 5,047 units compared to 3,814 units in June 2014, up 32 percent.
