Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran provided the group’s report card on its plans and performances to the Tata Trusts board during a closed-door meeting at Bombay House on July 8, a report by The Economic Times said on July 10.
This direct briefing by Chandrasekaran himself was a notable departure from precedent, the newspaper said citing experts.
The Trustees present at the meeting were- Noel Tata, Mehli Mistry, Venu Srinivasan, Pramit Jhaveri, Darius Khambata, Vijay Singh and Jehangir C Jehangir.
Moneycontrol could not independently verify the report.
Earlier, the Trusts’ nominees on Tata Sons’ board apprised the board of all developments, ET said. In addition, during Rata Tata’s tenure, Tata Sons board chairman did not ever brief the Trusts board directly, the report added.
Tata Trusts holds a 66 percent stake in Tata Sons, the group’s holding company.
