American Express marks 100 years of operations in India this year. From a travel office in Kolkata in 1921 to introducing the first rupee-denominated credit card in 1992, it's been a long journey. Amex India CEO Manoj Adlakha spoke to Moneycontrol's Chandra R Srikanth on the impact of UPI QR on card spends, if credit cards are here to stay and if tap-based card payments will be a huge factor to revive the segment going forward.
