International hospitality firm Hilton Worldwide today said it has introduced the 'DoubleTree by Hilton' brand in India with the launch of a new hotel property here.

"The debut of DoubleTree by Hilton in India is a significant milestone in our brand's continued growth strategy to provide outstanding hotel offerings in the world's gateway cities," DoubleTree by Hilton Global Head Rob Palleschi said in a statement.

The new 196-room hotel located in Mayur Vihar is owned by Eros Resorts and Hotels Ltd, an Eros Group company, and managed by Hilton Worldwide.

Four additional hotels under the same brand are anticipated to open in the country during the coming year, he said.

Globally, Hilton Worldwide operates more than 250 properties under the brand. Including the latest launch, the company currently manages six hotels in the country.

"We are expanding rapidly in the country and will more than double our trading estate during 2011," Hilton Worldwide Asia-Pacific President Martin Rinck said.
