Court OKs demerger of unit's nutrition biz: Wockhardt

Drugmaker Wockhardt Ltd said on Wednesday the Delhi High Court has approved the demerger of nutrition business of its unit Vinton Healthcare Ltd, effective January. The certified copy of the said order is awaited, it added.

Drugmaker Wockhardt Ltd said on Wednesday the Delhi High Court has approved the demerger of nutrition business of its unit Vinton Healthcare Ltd, effective January. The certified copy of the said order is awaited, it added.

Wockhardt Ltd. is a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company headquartered in Mumbai, India. The company has manufacturing plants in India, UK, Ireland, France and US, and subsidiaries in US, UK, Ireland and France. It is a global company with a more than half of its revenue coming from Europe.

The company has a market capitalisation of over Rs 4,800 crore (USD 1.07 billion) and an annual turnover of Rs 3,600 crore (USD 799.2 million). It produces formulations, biopharmaceuticals, nutrition products, vaccines and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The company employs over 7,000 people globally. Wockhardt Hospitals is a subsidiary of the Wockhardt Group.
