Parents know when their child is a fast learner, highly curious, self-driven, and emotionally aware. While these may be considered as good signs, recognising a gifted child can be slightly tricky.
For this, they may need additional support from the school counsellor or a psychologist to assess the child’s cognitive and emotional development. Problem-solving skills
Gifted children go beyond performing well academically. They are excellent at problem-solving with their critical and creative approach. They have a unique perspective and brilliant comprehension skills, which set them apart.
Emotionally sensitive
Intelligent children are more aware of their surroundings. Their emotional responses to people or even animals around them reflect their sensitivity and insight. They carry more emotional depth than most of their age.
Highly inquisitive
A gifted child will often surprise you by asking profound questions, as they seek to understand the world better. They are highly curious and have a genuine desire to learn and dig deeper into things.
Bright, fast learners
An easy sign to recognise is when children learn new concepts faster than others. Additionally, they don’t need repetition as they learn and process information quickly, retaining what they have studied.

Need mental stimulation
Since they are good at learning complex ideas, gifted kids need to be engaged in tasks that are mentally challenging, as they lose interest too quickly and easily feel demotivated and frustrated.
Self-motivated
Children who are highly intelligent do not need external motivation as much. They are self-driven and good at taking the initiative on their own. This also stems from their desire to learn and solve problems.
