The original ‘Gopi Bahu’ of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, has bought a new home in Mumbai. The actress, who is married to Shanwaz Shaikh and has a son named Joy, shared pictures of her cosy, artistic place on Instagram with the caption, “Aarohanam — a new beginning, a higher rise, our forever home.”

Her house features a vibrant living hall with florals and nature-inspired interiors. Even though many people prefer neutral spaces, the 40-year-old actress stayed true to her roots, adding colour to her home with wallpaper, furniture, and other décor pieces. Here’s taking a closer look.

In the first picture, the actress is seen sitting on a rust sofa with her husband, which gives a warm, cosy vibe. A cream-and-beige throw and matching cushions add a muted touch, balancing the striking hue of the sofa. What makes it even more beautiful is the painting, featuring pichwai art, behind them.

Her living room also has a stylish chair with floral seating, a cushion, and bolsters. While it may catch your fancy, the Chinoiserie wallpaper, with flower, bird, and peacock motifs, is equally eye-catching. The main space thus seamlessly blends nature and art into the contemporary setting.

If this is one corner, the other set-up featuring modern woodwork is also impressive. The floating shelves save space, while a large cabinet is great for storage. This is perfect for compact homes that work best with multi-functional furniture. Even the TV unit has ample storage for keeping things.

As they say, a house can never have enough storage, and so it is no surprise to see a traditional marble Mandir placed atop a modern cabinet with rattan-style doors in the living area. There’s also a cosy corner with blush armchairs and a wooden coffee table, with a plant and the actress’s awards hanging on the wall and a side table.

To add to the warmth of the space, neutral-toned walls and rugs have been used. The chandelier also suits the space and doesn’t look overbearing. The house is quite the blend of modern and traditional works, which truly reflects her personality.
