The main entrance of a home is quite significant, so the things we place around it matter, as they determine the flow of energy into our space. Whether décor pieces or houseplants, every item should be chosen with careful deliberation.

According to Vastu, having plants in and around the house is considered auspicious, but not all plants are suitable. Some block positive energy and bring negativity into the house.

Bonsai plants

Bonsai plantsare stunning to look at. They own the space with their artistic charm, but as per Vastu, they represent stunted growth. That’s the reason why they are not considered auspicious. These plants do not grow fully and remain small in size; this is considered a hindrance to personal growth and expansion.

Cactus or thorny plants

Cactus plantsare preferred by homeowners for their low-maintenance and quirky shape, but they do no good at the entrance of a home. Their thorny edges are believed to attract negative energy and disrupt cordial relationships between family members. They also bring stress, conflict, and financial strain. Therefore, it’s best to avoid placing it around important areas.

Milky sap plants

Milky or sticky sap plants are considered highly toxic. They are discouraged by Vastu for home entrances. These plants are believed to attract stress, tension, and strife, creating all sorts of disturbances in the home. Some of these plants are also unsuitable for kids and pets.

Cotton plants

Cotton plants may look decorative at the entrance of your home, but they are not best suited for the negative energy they carry. They are associated with death rituals. Keeping them near the main door is believed to cause financial stress, unpleasantness in the home, and obstruct positive energy.

Dead or dried plants

Keeping dried or dead plants near the main door is considered highly inauspicious. They carry negative energy and block opportunities for growth and expansion. Even artificial plants should be avoided. They may be beautiful, but they are lifeless and carry no positive energy. Bring natural, fresh flowers to brighten up the surroundings.
