Back in the day, Madhuri grabbed eyeballs in the song for her retro full-sleeve blouse, front pallu, and low-hanging drape that flaunted her midriff. Disha’s version was a modern interpretation of the same saree. The actress donned an intricately embroidered blouse featuring a plunging neckline and long sleeves, paired with a low-pleated skirt styled with a front pallu. She completed the look with traditional earrings and a few rings. Her hair was styled in a side parting with soft waves, and her makeup was done in warm tones.

Her look instantly caught the internet’s attention, and Diet Sabya — known for acting as a fashion watchdog on Instagram — slammed the ensemble as a “watered-down rerun” of the original.

Its caption, sharing Disha’s photos in a reel comparing it with Madhuri’s, read: “Some tributes are best left in the archives. And in the milieu of Dishafication, that legendary Dhak Dhak ensemble doesn’t land — sorry. It’s a NO.
