In today's world, where audiobooks and digital reads abound, there remains an enduring charm in the tangible sensation of holding a physical book. The act of flipping through pages, feeling the texture of paper, and inhaling the scent of ink and binding adds a timeless dimension to the reading experience.

Rohit Suraj, Founder and CEO of Urban Zen, shares seven helpful tips to design a cozy reading corner in your space. "These ideas aim to create a welcoming environment where you can relax with your favorite book and immerse yourself in its pages," he says.

Aim for a quiet corner: Choose a perfect spot in your home that receives ample natural light, preferably near a window where you can enjoy views of the rain-soaked landscape outside. Consider spaces like a bay window alcove, a comfortable nook under the stairs, or a corner of your bedroom or living room.

Add personal touch: In addition to your beloved books, your reading corner should mirror your unique personality. Add framed artwork, decorative accent pillows, and potted plants. Include  items that reflect your interests and passions, whether it's antique bookends, quirky bookshelf decor, or framed quotes from your favourite authors.

Bring the outdoors inside: Place potted plants or fresh flower arrangements nearby to add a touch of greenery and infuse your space with the calming presence of nature.

Choose your chair wisely: Invest in a comfortable reading chair or chaise lounge where you can sink in and relax for hours on end. Opt for plush cushions, soft upholstery, and supportive backrests to ensure maximum comfort during extended reading sessions.

Create a serene ambiance: Choose adjustable floor lamps, table lamps, or string lights that allow you to control the brightness and set the mood for a relaxing reading experience, especially on gloomy monsoon days.

Keep it clutter free: Keep your reading nook organised and clutter-free. Choose multifunctional furniture pieces like bookshelves, ottomans with hidden storage compartments, or wall-mounted shelves to store your growing collection of books and reading essentials.

Opt for soft textiles: Enhance the  your reading experience with an array of soft textiles, such as throw blankets, plush rugs, and oversized floor cushions. Choose fabrics in rich, warm tones and luxurious textures to create a welcoming atmosphere.
