Can you slow down some of the most evident changes that occur in the body due to ageing? While diet and workouts play an important role in supporting your health, supplements can also impact your cognitive function, heart health, skin appearance, and more.
In his new post on Instagram, neuroscientist Robert W.B. Love collaborated with Harvard-trained medical doctor Joshua Helman and shared 5 supplements that are anti-ageing. According to them, these supplements can reverse the biological clock and help people live a healthier life even as they get old.
Extracted from magnolia bark, Honokiol is a bioactive compound that has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help reverse biological age. It not only supports mitochondrial function and reduces inflammation, but studies also show that it has a strong anticancer effect.
Dr. Helman said that creatine is probably the most underrated supplement. “Not only does it build muscle, it also helps to turn back your biological clock. And what’s great is new research out of the Kansas Medical School found that 20 grams of creatine a day can actually reverse memory loss in people with Alzheimer’s.”

While it is produced naturally by the body, its supplements have gained popularity. They may not contain nitric oxide, but they have compounds that your body can use to make nitric oxide. You can also get this by chewing leafy greens and beetroots.
It is a great binding agent for heavy metals and mould toxins and also helps turn back your biological clock. MCP can influence galectin-3 activity in the body and its related biomarkers.
Dr. Helman said, “This is the most important because it resets the three pre-primitive biochemical pathways that are conserved and lead to ageing not just in people but in dogs and cats and even plants. How does it work? So the way NMN works is you take it, for example, as a powder, and then it gets transformed and increases the amount of a compound in your cells called NAD. This NAD is a co-factor that’s very important for energy, metabolism, and the mitochondria of almost every cell in your body.”
