KGF fame star Yash has started filming Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana in which he will play the role of Ravana. However, he recently opened up about his choice of playing the Lanka king.
In a recent interview with India Today, Yash shared, “It’s a very fascinating character. I wouldn’t have done it for any other reason. If you asked me if I wanted to play any other character in Ramayana, probably not.”
The actor explained, “For me, Ravana is the most exciting character to play as an actor. I like the shades and nuances of this particular character. There is a vast scope to present this character in a different way.”
Yash reflected to The Hollywood Reporter India on how he landed on the project. The actor, who is also co-producing the film, recalled that he was working on the VFX for Toxic in Los Angeles when Namit Malhotra from VFX company DNEG and Prime Focus approached him and talked about the film.
Yash told the website, “He spoke about Ramayan. They had been working on it since many years and he said I have this vision, this is what is happening and I am not able to put it together with the cast and all of that.” Yash revealed that he and Namit realized during their conversation that they both had the same goal of bringing a film like this to “the international platform”.
