When Rekha agreed to having feelings for Amitabh Bachchan during Simi Grewal's show, said Duniya bhar ke pyaar aap le lijiyega....

Rekha, a timeless icon of Bollywood known for her exceptional acting, graceful dancing, and enduring elegance, has often been linked to rumors of a past connection with Amitabh Bachchan. Recently, an old interview with renowned host Simi Garewal has resurfaced online, where Rekha openly acknowledges her feelings for Amitabh, reigniting discussions about their alleged bond.

Rekha appeared as a guest on Simi's talk show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal decades ago and during their conversation, When asked by Simi Garewal if she had ever been in love with Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha gave an honest response, saying, "Absolutely." She elaborated that it was only natural to feel deeply captivated by someone with his immense charisma.

When Simi Garewal asked why Rekha had never outright denied the rumors, the actress replied, "Why do I deny I am not in love with him? Of course I am." When further asked by Simi whether they meet or not, she said, "Oh yes. I see him lots in functions."

Simi then asked, "And that is just award functions?" To which the Umrao Jaan actress said, "Thats it? that's a lot. I am here to be one of the lesser models who can just have a whiff of him and feel happy. Duniya bhar ke love aap lelijiyega and some more. I feel that for that person."

However, she clarified that despite the rumors and the undeniable on-screen chemistry they shared, there was never a personal relationship between them.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Simi Garewal was asked about the approach she used to get Rekha to openly admit her feelings for Amitabh Bachchan. Simi revealed that she didn’t use any particular tactic to ignite the confession. She explained that their conversation felt natural, as it was simply two long-time friends reminiscing and chatting openly.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha shared the screen in films like Silsila, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Namak Haraam, and Do Anjaane, among others. However, due to the growing speculation about their personal equation, the two stopped collaborating on films after Silsila.

Amitabh Bachchan married Jaya on June 3, 1973, in a private ceremony. On the other hand, Rekha tied the knot with Delhi-based businessman Mukesh Agarwal in 1990, but their marriage was marred by tragedy as he took his own life shortly after.
