According to a report by the Times of India, the road leading to the residential building was completely cordoned off, and the electricity supply was promptly shut down as soon as residents became aware of the fire. During the firemen's cooling operations around 11:30 PM, shards of metal and glass were seen falling from the affected flat to the ground below, adding to the chaos and urgency at the scene.
Some people present at the scene suggested that the fire may have started from a diya lit by the family, with its flame reportedly catching onto nearby curtains and quickly spreading. According to the report, Mrs. Mishra ran downstairs in a panic, shouting for help. Hearing her cries, the building's watchmen rushed to the flat, but the fire had already caused significant damage by then.
