TV actor Gurucharan Singh, who was in the news recently for his sudden disappearance, said he wants the industry to give him work.

Gurucharan became a household name as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He has been a part of the show since its inception in 2008.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Gurucharan Singh urged his friends from the industry to give him work, as he is in dire need of it. “I want to tell the industry people that I’m available; I need work. I want to work with my heart because I enjoy working. If you can, please call me at my phone number, and I am available on Instagram. I want to do a lot for my fans," said Gurucharan Singh.

Gurucharan Singh  further added, "I'm not sure about what I should do. I felt I should do something from which fans should get something. I don’t want to give lectures or teach them anything, but I want to share real-life experiences that will benefit them. Even if I become beneficial for one or two people, it will be good."

Gurucharan left his fans worried after his sudden disappearance in May of this year. His father, who stays in Delhi, had filed a missing complaint. A missing complaint was also filed, but after 26 days, he returned on his own.

On his return, Gurucharan said that he had left everything to pursue a religious path.

Gurucharan had first left the show in 2013 but was brought back on public demand. But the actor finally quit the show in 2020, and now Balwinder Singh Suri plays the role of Roshan in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Talking about his initial days in Mumbai, Gurucharan said he bagged the show within six months of his arrival in the city. "When I came to Mumbai for the first time, I had a very strong feeling. In just six months, I bagged Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. No one knew me then. Now, the world loves me. This is my second inning, and I need support from the industry."

He had also met Asit Kumar Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta. And fans wondered if the actor would be returning to the show, but nothing has come out of that meeting.
