Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah welcomes Mumbai's first ever moving Ganpati Bappa 'Mumbai Cha Sheth' on the set

The spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai has always been celebrated with grandeur, but this year brought a unique twist. For the first time ever, Mumbai Cha Seth—a beloved form of Ganpati Bappa—was seated on a specially designed open double-decker bus, blessing devotees across the city. This extraordinary procession recently reached the set of the popular sitcom “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah”, where the entire cast and crew gathered to welcome Bappa with heartfelt devotion.

The atmosphere at Gokuldham Society, recreated on the set, turned festive as the artists performed the traditional aarti, seeking blessings for peace and prosperity. Show producer Asit Modi, who is known for bringing socially relevant themes to the series, shared his personal prayer. He revealed with a smile, “We have told Bappa about one problem—Daya Bhabhi must return to the show soon. This is something even the audience has been waiting for.”

When actor Dilip Joshi, who plays the iconic character Jethalal, was asked if Bappa had solved any of his personal issues, he humorously replied, “How can we share our private problems on live television? We’ve whispered them into Bappa’s vehicle—the mouse’s ear. He will surely listen.”

Actor Sachin Shroff also expressed his joy, saying that the concept of Mumbai Cha Seth’s open-bus procession was refreshing and filled him with happiness. The initiative has been organized by Keyur Seth of Red Cherry Entertainment, who has been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with grandeur year after year. This year’s theme, titled Hijack 2.0, symbolizes innovation, as Bappa travels in India’s first-ever open double-decker bus to bless devotees across Mumbai’s streets and neighborhoods.

The arrival of Bappa on the set of “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” not only spread joy among the actors but also brought a wave of festive cheer to millions of fans watching the celebration unfold.
