Television czarina Ekta Kapoor took a sentimental trip down memory lane as her renowned family drama, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, which revolutionised Indian television storytelling in the early 2000s, completed 25 years.
Ekta Kapoor posted a compilation of vintage moments and snippets from the drama on social media. She captioned her post as, “25 years of this show! At 25, making a show on family values, culture, and an older couple that stands for morality, love, and warmth and is symbolic of the Ramayan was ironical, to say the least! Sakshi Tanwar and the whole cast of this show, plus the creative teams like Mitu, Prashant, Dheeraj, Mahesh, Sandip, and all the directors, made this show a beacon of hope for those scrambling for representations of a culture that was not celebrated enough then! Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki was too good to be true. But it was what we all wanted to be!!! 25 years of this beautiful journey, and the best part is Sakshi still looks the same.”
Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, which debuted in 2000 under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, quickly gained widespread recognition and was one of Star Plus' best-rated series for eight years.
The drama, which starred Sakshi Tanwar as Parvati Agarwal and Kiran Karmakar as Om Agarwal, explored the intricacies of Indian relationships, family life, and traditional beliefs.
It was also a part of what many people view as the golden age of Indian television, and it was frequently seen in direct competition with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, another Ekta Kapoor creation.
