Actor and reality show host Jaaved Jaaferi hit to the stardom with the two popular TV series, Boogie Woogie and Takeshi's Castle. He gained a lot of fans by serving as the judge in the former and the narrator in the latter.
However, the actor has recently expressed his dissatisfaction with dance reality shows as they currently exist, though. In an interview with The Times of India, Jaaved revealed that, despite their different formats, today's shows seem to be identical to one another.
Jaaved said, “They all look the same. While the formats evolve, the core presentation rarely does. There's great talent around but when it comes to the shows, nothing really stands out."
“Today, dancers watch everything online and pick up styles from all over the world. We did not have the kind of exposure back then. Our show (Boogie Woogie) was original. It wasn’t copied. If it ever comes back, it has to be version 2, different and fresh,” elaborated the actor.

One of the first talent shows on Indian television, Boogie Woogie was a dance reality show that aired from 1996 to 2014. Along with Naved Jafri and Ravi Behl, Jaaved co-hosted and judged it.
Jaaved was last seen in the November 2025 release of De De Pyaar De 2. Rakul Preet Singh, Ajay Devgn, and his son Meezaan Jafri were also featured in the movie. His dance off with Meezaan to the song "3 Shaukk" in the movie went viral on social media. His next film is Rahi Anil Barve's fantasy thriller Mayasabha. The movie will be released on January 16, 2026.
