A recent controversy arose when content creator Anurag Dobhal posted a video on social media alleging harassment by his own family members. The video rapidly captured online interest, igniting discussions among his supporters and eliciting responses from various individuals in his circle.
In light of the escalating debate, Anurag's manager Rohit Panday went on Instagram to openly support the creator and respond to the criticism directed at him. In a sequence of Instagram stories, Rohit disclosed that the YouTuber has been facing mental health challenges and has also declined several reality show opportunities during this time.
In his posts, Rohit mentioned that Anurag had been offered various television and streaming opportunities but decided to turn them down to prioritise his health. He claims that the creator had chances to engage in events like Rise & Fall and The 50, among others. Rohit asserted that Dobhal wasn't in the correct mindset to handle new responsibilities.
In response to claims that the controversy was fabricated for publicity or views, Rohit maintained that Anurag has been mostly inactive on social media for months and has turned down brand partnerships despite numerous proposals.
In a post, he stated, “He refuted Rise & Fall. He rejected the '50' and various performances. The UKO7 Rider is set to return shortly, and I am persuading him to do so, even though he is reluctant. Currently, he has three offers from reality shows. Jo views ki baat kar rahe hain, mere bhai, views? Us bande ne 8 mahine se koi post nahi kiya, bade bade brand collaborations nahi kiye kyunki keh raha hai mann nahi hai, Rohit bhai, usse to views chahiye?”
(He currently has offers from three reality shows. Those people who are talking about views, what are they thinking? He has not posted anything on social media for the past eight months and has not even done any brand collaborations because he is not mentally doing well. And you say he is doing things for views?)
He further added, “C****e HO TUM AISA SOCH RAHE HO TOH. Us bande ne apni kamai ka Bigg Boss 17 se baant diya jaisa wada kiya; kitne logon ki sahayata ki. Kya yeh views ke liye tha? Video tak nahi banaya, bhai. Shadab CA se puchh lo; kitna jhoot bologe? Tumhe kutta bhi nahi pehchaanta hoga; tum hamesha UK RIDER ke bhai rahoge. That's your claim to fame, bro; chill, cold world.”
(You are a fool to think he is lying. He has given most of what he earned to people who needed help. Ask his CA, how much more will you lie? Nobody even knew you, and your claim to fame has been and will always be UK Rider’s brother. That is your claim to fame.)
Anurag, who is popularly recognised online as UK07 Rider, was formerly a participant in Bigg Boss 17. His participation in the popular reality series increased his audience, establishing him as one of the more recognisable digital creators among younger audiences.
Rohit's updates have introduced a new aspect to the existing controversy, with advocates and opponents still discussing the assertions presented by both parties. Although Anurag’s first video accusing his family initiated the conversation, his manager's reply has redirected the focus to his present mental condition and the career prospects he has allegedly opted to decline.
Rohit's remarks indicate that the creator might eventually rejoin social media and public events when he feels prepared to do so. In the meantime, the situation remains dynamic online, as fans eagerly monitor for any updates.
The scenario has ignited a wave of conjecture on social media, while those in Rohit’s inner circle have begun to express their backing for him.
