As anticipation builds around the grand audio launch of Jana Nayagan, actor Vijay has flown to Malaysia to be part of what is being billed as one of the biggest film music events in recent Tamil cinema history. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 27, at the iconic Bukit Jalil Stadium, and preparations are already in full swing.
Vijay was spotted at the airport waving to fans before departure, travelling alongside his mother Shoba Chandrasekhar. Joining him on the flight were several prominent names associated with the film and the industry at large, including composer-singer Anirudh Ravichander, director Nelson Dilipkumar, filmmaker Atlee, and actor-choreographer Prabhu Deva. Top playback singers who are set to perform at the event have also reached Malaysia ahead of rehearsals.
Speaking to the media before departure, Anirudh shared his excitement about the scale of the audio launch, revealing that nearly 80,000 people are expected to attend. He reiterated that the event is designed as a massive open-stadium celebration. In an earlier interview, the composer revealed that he would be presenting a special musical tribute to Vijay, featuring a medley of songs from Kaththi, Master, Leo, and Beast. He described the performance as an emotional send-off, noting that this would be Vijay’s final audio launch before stepping away from cinema.
Apart from Anirudh, the stage will host an impressive lineup of performers, including SPB Charan, Tippu, Anuradha Sriram, Andrea Jeremiah, Saindhavi, Yogi B, and more. The makers have reportedly planned a historic 10-hour-long music festival, with fans expected to arrive from across the globe.
Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan reportedly features Vijay as a police officer, with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. The ensemble cast also includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Mamitha Baiju. While plot details remain under wraps, the film carries immense emotional weight as Vijay’s final cinematic outing before his full-time entry into politics, where he is expected to contest state elections next year.
Backed by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan features cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. The film is slated for a Pongal 2026 release and is set to clash at the box office with Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Sudha Kongara, which releases on January 10, 2026.
